Palestine Mondays
Welcome to our Palestine Mondays series!
Monday, November 23 at 5:00 pm

Join us for a conversation lead by Eman Ghanayem that challenges the American myth of Thanksgiving, and provides a critical intervention that centers indigeneity & settler-colonialism. This discussion will highlight Palestinian-Indigenous relations and the intersections of both struggles against the US and Israel.

Eman Ghanayem is the 2020-2021 Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Asian American Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her PhD in English, with minor degrees in American Indian Studies and Gender and Women’s Studies from UIUC. Her research examines Palestinian and American Indian literatures, and the larger context of global indigenous and refugee narratives, through a framework of interconnected settler colonialisms and comparative indigeneities. Ghanayem taught in Jordan, the West Bank, and the United States, and is especially invested in helping young Palestinians, at home and in the diaspora, maneuver academic institutions and attain their goals.
