Yes and no, not yet!
Katherine FREUND

So, so sorry, I must run off to another meeting. I do hope this is being recorded so I can catch up. Thanks, all.

I think WI ADRC was successful in getting state legislation to cover Volunteer Driver Programs...my colleague at Easterseals and the National Aging and Transportation Center (NADTC) was active in the state in getting the regulations in place. I will reach out to her with your contact.
Laurie Downey
57:51
Thank you, Judy! That would be great.

Legislation was passed in Maine a number of years ago. I do not know the details - Katherine is the expert, and she had to leave the meeting for another. If you reach out to her by email she can tell you the details: Katherine.freund@itnamerica.org

Very interested in time dollar programs. Does the katahdin program neighbors driving neighbors use this model?
Heather Drake, Moving Maine, she/her
01:12:02
Thanks, Judy!
Shelly Blaisdell
01:12:59
Mobilize Katahdin does not use the time dollars program currently as we are able to provide all rides free of charge with grant funds we've received.
Judy Shanley (Easterseals-NCMM)
01:14:00
Thanks Shelly. How do you think about sustainability - especially if grant funds end?
Matt DeLaney
01:15:30
Following up on what Shelly wrote about Mobilize Katahdin. Our plan is to allow people that are able to pay for rides to pay for them on a recommended sliding scale. Initially, we want remove all barriers to build a larger base of volunteers and riders
Matt DeLaney
01:15:52
We will begin to incorporate other funding streams, but aren’t there yet
Judy Shanley (Easterseals-NCMM)
01:18:06
Terrific! If you want non-rider funding...such as grants that may come out of different federal agencies...you need to think about the "hook" the ROI! Thanks so much!

This is an example from WI about language for their legislature about insurance for Volunteer driver programs... https://gwaar.org/api/cms/viewFile/id/2005029 - I don't know the disposition of this. But, this brief notes Maine's legislation!

The Nat Ctr for Mobility Management is collecting examples nationally - perhaps there are some suggested practices you can put in place in your own communities...https://nationalcenterformobilitymanagement.org/
