Do you trust your personal instincts? Why or why not? Be specific.

what do you know instinctively that will … what?

Powerful question. Helped me realize how good my instincts are and how often I ref

it’s with doctors that my trust wobbles...it’s the old male authority thing!

If I trusted my instincts and upon reflection, I was satisfied with the results, it reinforced my trust.

I no longer see a Raise Hand icon where it used to be.

Hi Emma, you are next. Thanks.

In addition to not trusting my own information, I often find myself saying that I should just "be quiet" and not "step forward. I will take the "easy way out" by not presenting my own ideas or challenges to other ideas.

51:32
Hmm—if the “right” decision can take many forms, I wonder if it’s actually possible to make a wrong decision?

great question, Nancy

Does obedience interfere with authenticity in your life? If so, how and why? If not, when did you learn to rebel?

01:05:22
I am a rebel at heart. Always was. Always will be. In fact, I now welcome obedience. I cherish it. I've experienced many journeys through sorrow - some of which I'm still sorting out today. But my rebel heart keeps pounding to the beat of my own unique drum. And I love that part of myself. I really do. I just want to temper it a little with some obedience in the next season of my life.

01:07:02
@Joanne - I’m struggling here with the two ideas: being a rebel and being authentic. I hope this comes up in the discussion.

01:15:57
I see authenticity as my natural state. I see rebelling as pushing against something imposed from the outside. But I can choose to be authentic without any need to rebel, surely?

01:16:03
In the same way that doubt has led me to seek more authentic truths, many times it has also made me doubt my instincts. In the end it is a question of power, of how I use that force either to free myself or to weaken myself, to obey or to rebel.

01:19:56
Thank you, Mark. I will go deeper

01:22:01
Thank you Tom, that’s very helpful.

01:27:10
Julie: Moral dilemmas enter into discussion of rebelliousness. Like the military—blind obedience going against what is right.

Wow! Lots to chew on. Thank you!
