Question: Ignoring the overall value of Chapter 43, in discussion bullet point #5 of the Responsibilities of the Board, what is the best document to ensure "the library is obeying Federal, State, local, etc. statutes and laws. Is it the annual report? Or some other document.
We just dealt wit the opposite - the city mandated a raise for all employees and now we get to find money in the budget for our people
What are some historically reoccurring red flags to watch for in monthly bank statements? I implicitly trust the director, but also want to keep an eye out for anything concerning.
We get an audit of our books regularly. Usually a friendly local accountant will help

Also - tell your director to ask you for help! I'm on the Winnefox System Board (for two total meetings, but still) and I had no idea of the current budget issues.

How do you leverage the 'entertainment' part of the library systems versus the 'education' piece? I see that as a big issue right now, especially as we're moving back to regular usage
