Ronald is there any data about when done well how much can be raised after the event? Is it 10%, 15%, etc.? Seems since you can go beyond those that attended that this percentage has been growing!!

To Kimberly's point I also text our top fundholders here at the Community Foundation on a routine basis. Quick little notes to let them know I'm thinking about them. Of course this is only for those that like text messages!!

01:39:51

I have used my Board many times to make a matching gift challenge at year end. So I pull the Board together and they commit to say $50,000 that they will match for a campaign in December.

02:10:56
How does the relationship piece work with these new goverment grants? Seems like it would be harder to build a relationship with a govt grant manager?
Matt McGee - Reach for Excellence
02:12:31
Is there any wiggle room for Reviews instead of audits? The cost of an audit keeps going up...
Tim Turner SATISFEED
02:13:52
Elizabeth, the ARPA is so difficult to review
Randy Redner
02:13:56
Jim good question. For me and the Community Foundation we are really working at it just like advocacy for any issue. Meaning we have been talking to County Commissioners, State Reps, etc. to lobby for spending some of this government ARP funding for the nonprofit community. So leverage and talk with your elected officials!!
Jim Hollandsworth
02:15:23
Thanks Randy!
Matt McGee - Reach for Excellence
02:19:29
Okay... for small non-profits, is it better to apply for ARP funds directly from the state, or aim for sub-grantee funds from other agencies?
Jennifer Gross - BMore Learning
02:19:58
Great question Matt....I was wondering the same thing. We are so new and very small.
Lisa Walker Simon
02:20:39
Elizabeth, please repeat which component of ARPA is applicable to after school programs.
Matt McGee - Reach for Excellence
02:23:05
The instruction booklet for reporting ARP funds is 60 pages long!
Tim Turner SATISFEED
02:24:16
Randy, what about the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services requesting ARPA funds?
Randy Redner
02:25:16
Yes they can apply as well and I think Renee is looking at applying.
Jennifer Gross - BMore Learning
02:26:42
Thank you so much Randy! Great job to all the presenters....this is such valuable information and I can't wait to get the slides so I can go through this with our team. I hate to jump off but I have to attend an education event in another city.

02:37:55
how does an organization with limited tech skills navigate the online community and sale the idea to board of directors, the need of onboarding a fundraiser or retaining services of a consultant???
Ronald Pruitt
02:38:13
Love this - small donors make a difference too! Small donors grow into major donors.
cathy
02:40:42
I am adding to the "major gift" theme.. I sent $50 to my high school. The principal called me the next day to thank me profusely. I was SO embarrassed by my small gift, I donated $500 the next day. He was so happy with my $50, I wanted 10x his enthusiasm. : )
Kimberly Liebowitz
02:41:30

Wendy:Bald Ridge Lodge
02:45:30

Thank you, Randy. Been fundraising for a loooog time but there's always more to learn and this is outstanding!! (Phylecia Wilson)
Randy Redner
02:57:19
Good to see you on the screen Phylecia. You have raised millions of $$$ for the fight against cancer but have always been open to learning new ways. That is why the Gwinnett Relay for Life you founded grew to the largest global event for the American Cancer Society!!
Kimberly Liebowitz
02:57:50
That is such a great idea, another way to build connection!
Ronald Pruitt
02:58:12
Great point. Put profiles of staff on your website too. Let donors see who they are giving to.
Melinda Allen, Bethel Haven, Inc.
02:58:22
Thank you, to all the speakers today! This meeting was filled with wonderful information. And thank you to each of you on the call for all you do to serve in our community. I have to run to another meeting. Thank you again, blessings- Melinda Allen.

Someone asked about using Venmo and I didn’t see the answer.
Ronald Pruitt
03:33:41
I missed the question before. You can use any payment method you feel you are manage. Venmo and other new payment methods can help you reach a young or mobile audience. Just make sure you understand how payment works your fees, how you will get money, how you might get donor data into CRM, etc. If you feel you can manage it, great. If it's too much for your staff to take on. no worries. You can always take basics like credit card, debit card and echecks online.
