Question: Does anyone have a good idea on what the NYS rules and regulations will look like in 2021?

35:37
@todd still tough to say at the moment as things are very fluid and always changing

01:00:19
Thanks Doug

01:01:03
Thanks Jill!!

01:23:37
You understand JSALIS. What skills are the best takeaway for us …. never mind … you are answering it now.

01:24:05
MacKenzie- do local yacht clubs offer you any help, volunteers, use of their boats?

01:25:29
MacKenzie - how can an organization like the WaterFront Center get involved with siebel

01:26:13
The future of sailing is from community boating —

01:26:19
I like the values -- especially the personal responsibility, team work, and doing things right -- starting with caring for equipment, etc.

01:26:42
MacKenzie - Are most of your programs held at community sailing programs or do private clubs host as well?

01:27:53
any avenue to provide regatta support for the swivel sailors to compete in local events. Entry fee waivers, ground and coach support?

01:29:16
Stamford is thinking about this

01:30:27
Problem on LIS is that many clubs will not (or cannot) open their junior program to the community.

01:31:00
Could there be a partnership with Soundwaters in Stamford?

01:31:07
Local clubs do offer scholarships

01:31:18
maybe if there are some of these kids who express an interest in moving beyond this great program there could be a Yacht Club who could provide some select special kids with a special scholarship to have them join their club program at no charge. Change a life one kid at a time :)

01:31:27
Yacht clubs need to be the leaders in supporting community sailing

01:31:33
Does siebel provide support, I.e curricula, etc to organizations that want to introduce siebel principles?

01:41:22
MacKenzie has piqued our interest in tuning in to the presentation tomorrow when John Pearce will inform us how the curriculum developed by the Siebel coaches may become available to all through the Skill Up mobile app.

01:56:20
We're also falling short in a world of junior specialization -- not having kids sail with older kids or adults who can inspire and mentor them -- at club series, frostbiting, etc. Mentors make it fun and inspire the path forward!

02:07:49
The leadership video that Rich du Moulin mentioned being produced Storm Trysail Club may be viewed through this JSALIS web link https://jsalis.org/leadership-essential-program-safety

02:14:29
Can we get a link to resources from your organization? We are trying, but we need ammunition to convince some parents.

02:16:08
The Sailors for the Sea programs are listed here https://www.sailorsforthesea.org/programs

02:16:27
There's basic info on the program here: https://sailorsforthesea.org/programs/clean-regattasand here's a program overview with some feedback from previous events if you need to convince anyone: https://sailorsforthesea.org/sites/default/files/dashboard/Clean%20Regattas%20Program%20Overview%202021.pdf

02:21:45
Given the current practices of COVID 19 washdowns, how should we handle the demand that we Clorox down boats after each use?

02:22:03
Thanks Paige!

02:24:48
Would SFS be willing to participate in a zoom meeting for a club to explain?

02:25:15
What is your thought about hard enforcement of RRS Basic Principles paragraph 2?

02:26:50
Has this been used outside junior programs?

02:27:41
Alim, OakCliff is VERY INVOLVED in this program.

02:28:03
Good to know.

02:29:02
The RRS question is specific to this presentation.\

02:29:04
See past events list https://www.sailorsforthesea.org/programs/clean-regattas/past-events

02:29:50
If you don't have the RRS memorized, I can unmute and read it.

02:30:20
Todd you can unmute to explain RRS 2

02:30:37
or just type the shortened version here

02:30:54
Ready to talk

02:31:12
feel free to email us your question, Todd!

02:31:20
???

02:33:50
Instructors should always use the environmental impact in teaching curriculum

02:33:51
I just want to send out a huge thank you to all the presenters from tonight!

02:34:25
Thanks everyone. See you tomorrow.

02:35:12
Rule 47 TRASH DISPOSAL readsCompetitors and support persons shall not intentionally put trash in the water. This rule applies at all times while afloat. The penalty for a breach of this rule may be less than disqualification.

02:35:12
Thanks all. Very informative meeting. Well done.

02:40:55

02:42:38
good plan. make sure those staff are extremely proficient and competent

02:42:55

02:45:46
Go Midgets!

02:47:47
Thanks John!

02:48:35
"Midget age" was under 15 years old in the 1970s

02:51:55
Didn’t Covid bring the long hair back?

02:52:13
Night!
