Please type questions here if something strikes you, but we will have time at the end to open it up for verbal questions.

I think it's important to value their input in the soccer program. What do they want seems to be decided by others and often they are never asked what do you want.
Cristi Thomas

Yes, the more parents hear it the better, but also understand that "transition" and "adult world" (when school ends) is a very scary topic for families.

Great idea! You never know if that Buddy ends up working a summer job at the same place and can become a natural support for our TOPS player. Love!
RONI ANDREW -- WI chair
01:15:18
I love the conversations with the participants in my Brookfield program -- the average age is 16-21. I now have a player that is independently living on his own, calling up his own transport to get to trainings. He also wishes to start a frame soccer league and coach with TOPS -- its really cool.
Oscar Eusebio
01:15:28
My buddies are suppose to stay wither athletes and encouraged to talk about what they did, their plans, etc., and parents tell me those conversations within their earshot are very revealing about their own kids.
Oscar Eusebio
01:17:37
*stay with their athletes through the breaks and until the athlete leaves the field.*
RONI ANDREW -- WI chair
01:27:28
Are there networks directors of programs can utilize to connect with more transition programs
RONI ANDREW -- WI chair
01:29:02
I was afraid that would be your answer...

Hey Gateway Ink ships their shirts anywhere! Consider using them for your next order.https://www.gatewayink.org/quote.html

01:48:34
A curtain raiser game before the final is an easy draw.
Kim Fortney - WV
01:48:48
I think it needs to be included as it's "normal" to see not put on "stage".
RONI ANDREW -- WI chair
01:49:00
Agreed
Cristi Thomas
01:49:26
Agreed. I feel like we're putting spotlight rather than "inclusive" its a fine line sometimes
Kim Fortney - WV
01:50:13
If we add it to state level then added to regional just as other teams do it would seem more "inclusive"?
Cristi Thomas
01:50:32
Need to avoid terms "disabled players" They are soccer players first. Think about what we call our state teams. Just say TOPS FL, for example ;-)
Oscar Eusebio
01:50:35
One of the challenges for my athletes and their families is lack of finances. We get invited in our state cup but would love to see how USYS can help those families.
Rick Flores - New Mexico

We just launched a donation page. Helping kids get to regionals/nationals could be a part of a donation program.
