My wife's 4xgrandfather, Dr. Wm. Loving Vaughan, owned most of the land in St. Clair County and operated the land as a vast cattle ranch. He was a northern sympathizer and was killed on the Osceola main street in 1864. I have copies of deeds of sale when Dr. Vaughan sold parcels of land, much of which is under the Truman Reservoir.
