More of a comment than a Q (posting here for that reason) 1. Pete is right. important that this is not a closure COP. It’s a process-clarification COP. 2. One key way to parse the talks is tracking two key themes that make or break things - emissions action and financial action. UNEP’s Emissions Gap report (out today) gets lots of coverage but the ADAPTATION GAP (a big part is on lack of finance for adaptation) is coming 4 November from UNEP and is full of angles. https://unepdtu.org/project/un-environment-adaptation-gap-reports/

This has been so difficult to achieve any meaningful (more than promises) success. Yet, on one of the mpost potenta GHGs - HFCs, there has been meaningful solutions (Kigali) that have included developing countries (China, India) and has been implemented in many places (the US's AIM act & new EPA regs). This will have a meaningful temp reduction 0.5 degrees C. Something to remember as you cover. There are better ways than finger-pointing or emission/energy shaming.
