question what happens if the power goes out? Is there a battery backup/solar option?

01:22:47
because the funds were accrued under a very specific contract would the RDCO consider the community spending it on something else other than a sign? before the RDCO take back the funding...

01:23:27
question: If the sign is damaged or vandalized, beyond the $2500 we have budgeted, what happens

01:23:51
could funding be used to pay an individual to change the messages on the current sign

01:24:09
you can ask

01:26:20
understood thank you

01:26:28
You can

01:26:40
is this to be a JRRATS voting members decision or a Joe Rich all residents vote to decide?

01:26:46
you can ask it Heather

01:27:22
can we consider alternatives before deciding on the goudie sign? or is there time pressure due to procurement of the other two signs?

01:27:40
Question who would own the sign?

01:27:49
Nvm

01:30:27
no thanks

01:31:02
Question could the funds be used to purchase things like foosball tables etc to get bums in the seats at the hall?

01:32:22
Has Ellison Community agreed to the sign?

01:32:30
You can ask

01:32:36
I don't have a mike

01:33:19
PIease ask: I am concerned the sign isn't far enough off the ground not to be partially blocked by snow accumulation. From the drawing it looks to be about 2 1/2 feet.

01:34:33
what about a greenhouse? JRRATS could also do programming out of it, plant sale fundraisers. could that be considered for hall grounds? would that qualify under gas tax or have to come from accrued funds?

01:34:49
please ask

01:37:46
Very valid points! Thank you Mark

01:40:41
Question if the 52,000 for programing is not used for the sign will the next contract withhold hall funding.

01:40:51
I don't have a mike

01:43:54
I think the greenhouse is an awesome idea!

01:45:35
the hall is old and I would support a good chunk going into a capital reserve.

01:46:34
“comment”

01:49:06
Great question

01:51:27
it was a comment as an alternative way to use the accrued funds given the concern with using up the funds. The tone of the conversation has come across that the accrued funds may impact future funding from rdco and other sources as Mark stated and that they should be spent asap, and the sign is an opportunity to do so.

01:51:33
another comment

01:51:57
please read they are just comments

01:53:03
QUESTION for you to ask: Can you clarify on why the fire department is unable to use?

01:53:24
For specific fire hazards / concerns / emergency?

01:54:24
I think he just meant for fire Dept messages

01:54:25
Ok. Thank you for your reply.

01:55:44
for Murray: not talking about investing in fire set. just using it for messages like “no open burning”

01:56:14
just to clarify, the gas tax is finding the sign at the hall. but the accrued funds in jrrats are not from gas tax.

01:56:20
?

01:56:24
you can ask

01:57:00
funding*

01:59:43
so by giving up the current letter board, we give up the ability to communicate anything that doesn’t have to do with the hall programming (such as fd messages and emergency communications). just a comment.

02:00:07
again, Jeff’s question was about the fire Dept putting messages on the board, NOT diverting the funding.

02:00:41
A.Volk - Correct. Not asking for funds - just messages.

02:02:40
so by going with this sign the fire Dept will be losing one of the ways we communicate with the community? doesn’t make a lot of sense.

02:03:47
A.Volk I agree

02:04:06
Agreed

02:04:14
Agreed.

02:04:41
Agreed

02:04:56
agreed

02:06:09
I feel that we need that information from Murray whether the signs can be used independent of each other, and if so, then I understood we could use the sign for other messaging.

02:09:00
just the occasional fire Dept message, not looking to take anything over

02:09:43
It’s primarily for community programming information which is a real good thing for Joe Rich

02:09:48
I don’t believe that’s being implied, but the flexibility to use it if needed, just as we do now.

02:11:42
It’s a comment.

02:11:49
To clarify again - I am not 100% sure that the proposed sign at Goudie & Highway 33 will be limited to messaging that is focused on the community hall. The proposed use of JRRATS accrued tax funds which were intended to support "community hall programming". If we can program the two signs independently (probable) then the RDCO and JRRATS can potentially explore a sign message "procedure" that would focus the majority of messages to support the community hall and when needed (i.e. emergency situations, etc.) then alternate messages for the community.

02:11:56
I can understand that the signage is meant for community events etc, but if there is a fire ban or say community information pertaining to a local fire evacuation I would hope to see these messages on the boards. ( comment)

02:13:21
the challenge with programing and spending the funds as always been the challenge of obtaining volunteers to administer the programing which is further challenged by the societies limited ability to have "employees" so I strongly encourage anyone who is concerned about spending the funds to volunteer and attend the programming!!

02:13:43
please read

02:20:32
will we get an answer regarding the messaging of the goudie sign so that we can use that info for the vote

02:21:10
are we able to get a confirmation on the messaging question before voting is closed

02:21:31
I will ask Cindy/ Andrea

02:21:55
I will aim to answer this question and provide a response to the JRRATS Board later this week.

02:21:59
Thank you so much everyone for all of the info & time much appreciated !

02:22:02
thank you

02:22:05
thank you

02:22:19
Thank you Murray / BoD.
