While we are waiting, I have a question. Will there be an effort to push for post office $$ from Senators
Liz Tentarelli
51:30
Along those lines, what are the priority actions at the national level and is that work being done?
Sandy Spence
51:55
Only citizens are allowed to vote so why must we not require that information during registratioin?
Liz Tentarelli
51:56
Not meaning to sound critical, but Covid keeps some of our work from happening.
CatherineWeller Utah
01:10:00
A new concern for Utah, transparency in virtual legislative sessions especially ensuring bills are published in time for citizens to review and ask for time to testify in hearings.
Joan Sampieri
01:10:17
I would like help for our league to track legislation. I know the state and national leagues do this. Yet our local league wants to do a better job.
Sandy Spence

VA correction : we are trying to establish a bipartisan citizen-led redistricting commission via a Constitutional Amendment. we are trying to educate our voters so they will vote yes.
CindyHeine KY LWV
01:14:54
Thanks Chris for the correction.

Folks interested in the Postal Service can use our action alert to contact their Senators: http://participate.lwv.org/c/10065/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=13973&_ga=2.132559175.835883047.1598277899-1884641261.1571421842
Patricia Rossi
01:15:08
In CT we are having transparency problems exacerbated by the pandemic--meetings that were open to the public in our state capitol aren't open now that they are conducted on line. Our governor does not seem to value open government ideas--the gov't is not responding to freedom of information act requests as they should. I bet this is a more general co-vid related issue across the country?
Joanie Jones
01:15:31
Must say goodbye and thank you for intro and sharing. Joanie Jones, Santa Barbara
CatherineWeller Utah
01:16:43
Speaking of local Leagues, one of Utah's local Leagues will be observing the various committees and boards overseeing policing reform. There are a number of jurisdictions within our largest local League.
Judy Andree
01:18:39
Leaving now--granddaughter needs homework help!
Joann Hasse
01:18:41

Happy Women's Equality Day everyone!!! Going out to take a walk on this glorious mild summer day in NJ!
CatherineWeller Utah
01:19:29
A searchable Impact on Issues, like we had with the previous edition, would be very nice.
Liz Tentarelli
01:23:08
Speaking of searchable...when will someone clean up the LWV.org website so that if one tries to search out something about Convention, for example, one actually finds the current info rather than items from 6 years ago?
Jessica Jones Capparell
01:23:08

Jackie Coolidge
01:26:28
I would have thought census workers have a legal right to enter those apartment buildings and gated communities, no???
Nick Harper
01:26:42
They do, but landlords don't always cooperate.
Jackie Coolidge
01:27:13
Such a problem these days (non-cooperation). Sigh.
Paul Huffman
01:28:15
With respect to census worker access, the Census Bureau has no law enforcement ability. We pushed to pass ordinances in some communities to require access by local (county or city) regulation. That was successful in some areas.
Jessica Jones Capparell
