Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
35:45

Davelle MORRISON
35:49

Davelle MORRISON
39:51
I'm the President of the Short Term Accommodators of PEC
Lesley Lavender

Question one did not apply to me - so I selected none - but truth is ALL :)
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque

STA
Golshan Abdmoulaie
54:53
Can you please give the polls an extra min, I didn’t get to fill in all the questions
Alex Portman (he/him) The Eddie PEC
01:07:11
How much revenue is the County projecting from the MAT? What will accountability look like for spending these funds?
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque
01:08:04
yes, thank you!
Richard Barrett
01:09:33
TASTE received funds from the municipality annually
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque
01:12:12
we need wider community buy in to support this initiative.
Rebecca Lamb
01:12:26
Hey Alex, the finance team has conservatively estimated there to be roughly $850,000 in new revenue through MAT annually.
Golshan Abdmoulaie
01:14:03
PEC doesn’t need anymore marketing
David Goodman
01:15:04
We could sure use marketing directed to the shoulder & winter seasons
DALE WAINWRIGHT
01:15:16
Agree
Davelle MORRISON
01:16:23
You can't reduce daytrippers if there aren't enough places for them to stay,
Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:16:28
instead of closing down areas like huyks point and little bluff they should 'managed' well because closing more areas it also hurts residents …. not only tourists …
Monica Oliver
01:17:00
And perhaps diversified marketing to include more families. I feel the county attracts mostly adults…
Davelle MORRISON
01:17:22
There needs to be more focus on fixing the congestion problem at Sandbanks
David Goodman
01:18:02
Also we're so much more than Summer
David Cormican
01:18:22
Is the 4% going to be held in escrow until a decision has been made on how best to direct these funds? Or does it go into general revenue?
Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:18:34
Provincial Parks should be responsible as well in all that problem with lined up at entrances etc … they should collect $ 2 per visitor and that should go to the MAT money
Golshan Abdmoulaie
01:19:12
what about folks who live in Quinte area who have the right to use the provincial parks or cannot afford over night stays.
DALE WAINWRIGHT
01:20:38
Would like to see the current Tourism plan be more positive towards tourists, rather than a long list of fines and regulations. Don't do this. Don't go there. We need more "How about visiting this area?" - suggested alternative spots when they can't get in to their original destination.
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque
01:22:15
what dialogue do we have with the park?
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque
01:22:41
sandbanks is a big piece of the puzzle and wondering what influence we have there?
Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:22:49
a general positive attitude towards tourist need so be established, as residents get almost 'nasty' towards tourists, we had guests that got talked down too on the street and in grocery stores, this is very disturbing trend
Natalie Wollenberg
01:23:22
agreed.
David Goodman
01:23:30
Escrow tied to specific uses is essential to avoid siphoning into General Revenue
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque
01:23:50
that’s why we need to engage the non industry locals to have their voice heard and get buy in
David Cormican
01:24:02
true
Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:24:34
first questions was why is this tax not on camping and trailers parks ? and Provincial Parks ?
Golshan Abdmoulaie
01:24:52
Very important question
DALE WAINWRIGHT
01:25:57
Hopefully they will be putting a lifeguard on duty at North Beach. How many people have to drown before they take the need seriously.
Davelle MORRISON
01:26:17
I feel as though if the challenges at Sandbanks are not fixed this summer, Tourism will receive a failing grade so I think it's really important to tackle that problem with the province.
Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:26:41
thanks Becky !
Sherry Karlo
01:28:22
Just a comment that wineries should hold a place of primacy as in other wine regions throughout the world.
Richard Barrett
01:28:49
Can someone from the Sandbanks Provincial Parks attend a Zoon call to update everyone about their crowd control plans for 2021?
Mary Lynn Lester & Rachel Baque

Carolin Elisabeth Boysen
01:29:17

Thank you for framing long term solutions for tourism management. Not everything is within the scope of The County. This needs time to do it right.
