Was that Dunbarton farm land originally farmed with conventional measures? Did you need to do a lot of soil remediation work?

Average acreage of leased farm plots ?How easy was it to get Somalian traditional crops to ‘adjust’/grow in New England ? ;)And did I miss … how many farmers are now participating ? Men and Women,I assume ? Thanks …

NRCS = USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service

We have a Total number of 39 farmers currently ,27 women and 11 men.

Additional benefit of NRCS is their awesome free technical assistance and engineering assistance. but you are right on the proactive part with them!

Cost to lease acreage at Dunbarten/Fresh Start Farm ?

That food safety is a good opportunity for training and building a job opportunity for someone in the community. We have used the train the trainer model for this in PA with success.

Do you incorporate composting programs at the farms?

Do you foresee any animal farming at any of your farms in the future?
