01:27:54
No...I love them!
Cortney Brummond
01:28:55
Great way to use them when we cannot have all these non-verbals, i.e. emails/texting, etc. But, this is a great idea for Lanyards to add to it during this Pandemic to support the non-verbal cues
Cortney Brummond

This is hard if the parent never had anyone do this for them, so being there for our parent is huge.

Love the work that you and Dr. Dan Siegel are doing! Reading The Whole Brain Child was so eye-opening and now I often like to use the information learned to model and implement in parent education class! Thank you so much!

Just wanted to share a great non-verbal cue strategy I saw someone use. They had printed out a life size picture of their own smiling mouth, and put it on the end of a popsicle stick, so they could hold it up in front of their mask to “smile at” people in real time. It was really amazing, and made realize how much I missed being smiled at. :)

How do you advise parents that use spanking or hitting to discipline their child because it is embedded in the culture? How do you recommend methods of emotional co-regulation when spanking/hitting is seen as the only way to “correct” the child.
