Agreed about mindsets - I grew up in a large family in the late 60's and 70@s and wore handmedowns. When I had my first flat I inherited a third hand washing machine, plates, pans and furniture. We need to change the mindset or what is acceptable and what is bordering on "shameful" having secondhand

Agree re mindset: parents lost all but clothes on their backs in war so no new toys or clothes for me as a child

@ModeratorMaurice who is leading the charge on changing the mindset - do we need to change the marketing on its head and look for the mavens and thoughtleaders who have a following to lead this in the way that Attenborough highlighted plastic?

Schools have much to do to change the mindset of pupils, starting in primary schools

You will probably find they have govt ministers who have shares in the firms that make them! Or they are listening to their NUDGE unit

Currently Waitrose do the same thing and during Covid they don't even allow you to recycle them
