To echo Tony's concerns, in Oregon our effort to get an independent redistricting commission on the ballot saw a lot of opposition from Democratic groups. In Oregon Dems have a trifecta.

My daughter is CURRENTLY in middle school - she is highly STEM, and all of her (public, Seattle) history teachers incorporate civics education, if only to help understand what is going on in public events. It's not that NO civic eduation is taking place

This was in the late 50’s!

As a retired teacher, I see the new math curriculum, and I LOVE it! Students learn a deeper level of math understanding, but it does take time to learn it. You cannot just sit down and see how problem solving is done in a few minutes. So, I do like the new way of teaching math a lot. I also completely agree with thoughts about civics. It is not taught at all in elementary, and is just touched upon in Middle School.

the problem is much worse, in that 'educated' Senators, who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, and besides know better (like all of us here who don't need to swear an oath, and as all the middle schoolers I know, as well as anyone with common sense can tell you) - could tie themselves up in lies in order to NOT vote Impeachment. The Re-Education we need, is taking away broadcast rights of FOX News
