Even when people send in application they are being told they didn't receive it. I wish Job and Families Service could help with this. Also only so many people can schedule each day. This needs to be done by month on line.

I volunteered for 10 years. Now can't help because of a closing of Food pantry. I would love to help again.

Rebecca, in the current version of the budget, Ohio foodbanks have received level funding plus $12 million in one-time federal CARES Act funding to be spent in calendar year 2021

@Joree, thank you for breaking that down! Currently Ohio spends $0.09 per capita on domestic violence services.

@Rebecca very shameful. Not to mention unintended consequences of proposals like SB17, which would require domestic violence victims to prove why they have legitimate reasons not to pursue paternity/child support in order for them to maintain SNAP benefits

Sub HB 110, SB 17 and Every other line items in them are Only Working to go AGAINST People Who Contribute IN State Revenue with their Hard-Earned Low Income, compared to the People using Tax Loopholes to NOT PAY their Fair Shares while demanding services from the State. Of Course, All Not Essential, Foundamental services for Survival, and Shifting burdens to the ordinary people and low-/no-income people who have lost their footings Not necessarily their Choice or Fault! 😠😡🤬

To update, I just had a great call with someone in Senator Matt Huffman’s office. They were my ‘best case scenario’ call and told me they’d pass along the information to the Senator.

I got 2 calls completed to Sen. McColley & Sen Dolan's offices then kept waiting on the line for Sen Hottinger's office---just got a recording... but this was easy to do!

I talked with two aides - Emma with Sen. McColley’s office and Adam w Sen President Matt Huffman’s office. I talked with them both about assistance for Foodbanks and for child care access and affordability!

Not completely sure it was AGO, just some other state agency office and not Hottinger

Rebecca, it's called Phone2Action. It is a platform we at the Ohio Association of Foodbanks began subscribing to shortly before COVID. It is not without expense but we hope it's an investment that can prove worthwhile in collective advocacy!
