How can a pastor or church leader describe this part of the life cycle of the church (when vision is not leading but individuals or groups are) with those who may not want to hear this.

That is what I hope a Task Force may be able to begin to see, shift and pivot begin that truth talk.

Thanks -- we have been focusing on vision for a couple of years now and you are right... we've had some outside help with this, and that helps. What happens is a few catch on, but the rut of living programmatically bogs down. Still trying to fight that downward momentum!

How often should revisioning happen to recycle the life cycle of a church?

The annual Church Profile could be a helpful document to trigger discussion of vision. However, we understand it is used solely for the appointment of pastors, so the Staff-Parish Relations committee was the only committee to discuss this. It checked the box. Can this be a tool to develop a vision statement?

Do you recommend we plan shifting to SAS before or after the General Conference, with the possible split.

What happens to the positions we are required to fill on the LCLC we are required to populate each year such as evangelism, education, programming, etc.

Wouldn’t this take away from the diversity of the church? By diversity, I am speaking broadly (i.e. experiences, social status, race, etc.)

What if some of these 9 are in the same household...is that an issue?

In our church, committees provide the people who take on practical tasks (count offerings, open and lock church, etc.). How is this handled in the SAS plan?

Our Church has been doing the One Board system and it has worked out very well.

But if I can't get one person to fill SPRC leadership position b/c it's just too much responsibility, how do I heap even more responsibility on one person...?

Can different members lead different areas? For example can S/PPRc leader and Trustee leader not be the Board Chair and lead those discussions with the same team?
