Would you then recommend that translators include their compliance with the ISO standard in their statements of “authorised” translations?

As long as there is no UK body who can offer certification to this standard, I cannot see how this standard can be implemented in a meaningful way.

Would ITI or CIOL be able to offer this type of certification in the UK?

What does it mean that Germany rejected the standard? Who exactly rejected it? Translation associations? German branch of ISO?

Hi. I am still building up my experience. I have an MA in Translation and have 15 years experience as a Buyer, negotiating and and redrafting contracts of supply for large companies and am specialising in this area. I have done and passed the Chartered Institution of Purchasing and supply but have let me subscription lapse. This had a legal module. Am I not "qualified" to translate contracts?

What might be the cost of certification when it becomes available?

German legal translators have posted comments on Facebook stating they were very surprised with the DIN mirror group position. They wrote that much of the arguments that the DIN commit made were misunderstanding.
