So excited! I was obsessed with The Positive Birth Book when I was pregnant. Feel like Iโ€™m meeting a celeb ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ
fi
01:16:46
also thought Iโ€™d say: I loaned my copy of GBLAF to a pregnant friend who was scared of labour and wanted an elective c-section. She read it and as a result had the self belief to go for a natural labour and it was a perfect labour and birth. So pleased for her!
Aurelie

Alison
01:24:07
Been through several up and down days and had a good cry too. Definitely helps can't be calm all the time.
Louise Jenkins
01:25:00
I did the same Fiona.....had such a rush of emotions a couple of weeks ago that it all came out and as hard as it was, I felt slightly more relieved.....it is grief and it is OK for us to allow that grief to unfold and explore how we use strategies to keep going. Groups like this really help!
Alison
01:27:03
That great as I was wondering if we were gonna talk about hypnobirthing
Saskia @ Mush

I just want to say thank you so much Milli I started your book last week and have never felt so relaxed in my life. I had ptsd and anxiety from age eight and a massive fear of childbirth. I now feel so much calmer in general, excited for birth and so much more ready emotionally. thank you again

Hi there. My biggest fear going into my first birth was that I wouldn't have time to get a epidural. In my first birth I progressed quickly and it took a long time to get the epidural to the point that it was almost too late! Now going into my second birth I feel even more anxious as I know second labours progress quicker and the hospital may be busier. Any tips on how I can get them to give the epidural sooner/take me seriously to get the ball rolling quicker?

01:42:30
canโ€™t recommend hypnobirthing enough. So empowering for birth partners too. It made my husband the most incredible birth partner I could have hoped for
Kirsty
01:42:42
Thank you! That's excellent everyone

01:42:57
Thank you so much for the calming words. I'm due baby boy number 3 next month and receiving mixed information about where my two sons can be while i'm in labour. Is there any official guidance on this? My community MW recommends they stay at home with my husband but that would mean I give birth alone. I would (much!) prefer they go to my parents (who have been isolating in preparation.

I'm 30 weeks and am doing the Wise Hippo Hypnobirthing online - local branches everywhere and mine is being led by a local midwife via zoom. Can highly recommend.

Completely agree, I started Hypnobirthing end of last year and I def feel this has helped me work through current situation. Also brilliant way for partner to have a role as there are scripts that they can read to you and support with soft gentle massage. It's made us feel like an even stronger and supportive team! x

Hi there. I had an incredibly positive birth 17 months ago and that was all due to a private Hypnobirthing course. I would highly recommend it to educate yourself and your birth partner. Most importantly practise the guided meditations and visualisations daily. I spent 20 minutes practising daily. I also recommend putting together a relaxing birthing playlist which you can have on during labour and birth.
Lucy Holland
01:47:53
Thanks - i am a mental nurse and cbt therapist. have dabbled in mindfulness and thereโ€™s a lot of overlap in the concepts. really useful
Jaspreet Kaur Lall
01:48:14
which essential oils do you recommend for anchoring?
Lucy Sunderland
01:49:50
When do you advise starting the techniques ? Iโ€™m 23 weeks is this too early?
Louise Jenkins
01:51:20
Hey @lucy I started doing hypno birthing in the first trimester (no in 3rd) primarily as I have a relationship with anxiety and mild depression and have found its been really useful as I transition into trimesters and then also the current situation. Flow with what works for you, never too early or too late! x

01:52:47
go for it the longer you got the more you get into the mindset. The stronger your association the more effective it is.
