In Woodbury, NY: For Shabbat, we do aliyot from seats. We allow under 20 people in our sanctuary, socially distanced at 12 feet, with masks, preregistered. Our clergy are socially distanced on bimah. Only one clergy opens ark, removes Torah, and reads from it.

We got permission from our county health that despite the prohibition of ‘musical instruments played by mouth’ the service leader can blow the shofar during an in-car parking lot service (the leader at a distance from all the cars)

We are socially distanced , For Aliyot, the Congregant comes within 7 Feet of the Torah, Makes a motion to reach out to touch, and then completes the prayer. Only the Cantor or the Rabbi touches the Torah. All attendees are registered online beforehand, masked, and have their temperature taken at the door. Hand Sanitizer is provided.

Shari Spark
01:03:07
The amount of work is truly overwhelming! For Elul, we're trying to create a calendar where congregants contribute or we have links to blogs, youtube or other resources daily - we do something similar for the omer.
Ellen Feit
01:03:13
That’s what we are thinking of - “Torah time.”
