My LO is 11 months and doesnt communicate much with words. HV has told me to make to make sure speak alot around her aswell as to her to delevop her communication skills. Im a single parent so there is no one else to talk to around her and I struggle with talking to her alot. I try reading to her but she just grabs hold of books and throws them or tried to eat them. any other ideas?

what do you think about babies watching tv. mine is 4 month’s old and she is really interested in it. is it a developmental help or hindrance?
Morgan
50:41
I would say tv is good at the mo. my bubba is the same, but I think it's the music and the sound and the moving images as opposed to actually watching tv
Vickie
50:47
The WHO said that TV for unders 2s was no recommended. My 16month old recently started discovering the TV and wants to watch Fireman Sam and I'm worried it's not good for him. Thoughts? He's only started watching TV since lockdown.

I try to speak to baby in english and spanish and repeat words/sentences a few times. I read to her in Spanish too, as I'm the only one who can. I plan on sending her to a bilingual nursery too
Ana

We speak two languages at home too. And I tend to say the names/nouns in both languages. Is that ok?
