My daughter is 4 months old. She loves her day naps, but it takes ages to get her to sleep at night. also she is breast fed so she tends to sleep on the breast. she doesn’t sleep on her own. Also she sucks her digits a lot. when will she come off it? kindly add me to the newsletter.

My son is 4.5 months and sleeps during the night but is often bf to help him settle when he becomes slightly grizzly. Is it too early to help him to learn to self settle?

will make this quick, 2 things 🙈😁 15 months old, still breastfeeding, feeds for naps, how do I stop that (I've no one to help) second thing, she self settles to sleep at night, but still wakes up 2-3 times to feed, throws herself in her cot then goes back to sleep herself so I've no idea why!! 🥴 surely cant be hungry!! thank you!!

02:48:54
will you be able to use these ideas for a 4 year old who struggles to get to sleep as well?

my 3.5 yr old still needs someone to get him to sleep 😭. 2 stories and more we can't leave the room until he's asleep. he doesn't have a nap anymore so he's falling asleep a bit quicker but I would love for him to be able to sleep after he's had a story

When my child wakes and cries I know that he won’t self settle and stop crying, despite many family members telling me to leave him to cry and go back to sleep. Maybe I made this worse by never really leaving him to cry (is that possible?), but can you explain the reasoning behind the anti-cry it out approach and why that might be a better approach?

my 2 year old can go to sleep on his own but needs someone in the room with him, he is hysterical when he wakes up and no one is in the room with him, my 9 month old can only go to sleep if he is in the boob, how can I can get him to sleep without going on the boob?

my little one is currently going through 4 month sleep regression. he’s almost 5 months old. he is still dependent on us rocking him to sleep and would wake up between sleep cycles for us to rock him back to bed during day naps. at night it was fine. lately, he’s waking and crying a lot so we have to take him out of the room and gently rock him back without making him cry which is very difficult. I would like to teach him self settle, so he doesn’t need us to rock him any more. would that also help with the crying between sleep cycles too or might this be another issue at the moment (teething, growth spurt hunger, etc)?

What causes the 8 month sleep regression? Does the sleep cycle change again?

03:03:44
Currently need to cuddle baby to sleep, and then cuddle him back to sleep when he wakes between sleep cycles. Should I start trying the self settling approach at night time only and mastering that before the doing the same for day naps? How long on average does it take to learn better sleep habits?

wakes 45 min in her afternoon nap and only nap she has. is this because she is fed to sleep and she can’t resettle herself? But shouldn’t she be tired to sleep at least 90 min?

I struggle to put my baby down drowsy as feeding always leads to him falling asleep regardless of how long he's been awake. I have to hold him up for half an hour after a feed due to reflux so he's fallen asleep by the time I put him down. if I don't feed him before he is sleepy he will just stay awake and become overtired. Are there any tips for overcoming this?

My 5 weeks old baby sometimes sleeps 6.5h in one go. I get worried and wake him up to feed him. Should I wake him up for feeds or should I let him sleep until he wakes up, even though that might be a long time?

What age would you expect babies to sleep through the night without feeding? If waking in the night, is it best to make sure they are well fed first before trying to get them to self settle?

When I put my 7 month old down to self settle, he rolls around and shakes his head from side to side, and ends up waking himself right up, no matter how drowsy he is. If I can get him to sleep on his side, he doesn't do it as much, but if he rolls onto his back, he does it every time. What is this, and how do I stop it?

From your experience are bottle fed babies able to sleep through sleep cycles better? I breastfeed my baby, he sleeps for 4 - 5 hours straight, but after that he wakes every 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Others advise I should combi feed, do you think this will solve this problem?

just playing devils advocate - do you think that babies really need to learn to self settle? will they eventually learn to settle themselves as they get older with reassurance of cuddles / boob etc? I sometimes feel like my baby is frightened of the feeling of going to sleep and needs reassurance

My little girl (7 months) really fights everytime I try & put her to bed. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to help this. I try and get her ready for bed as soon as I see sleepy signs and don’t leave her longer than around 2-2 1/2 hrs so she shouldn’t be overtired. She’s a great sleeper once asleep. Thanks.
