If you need to leave the call at 3 PM, we will send the recording to you. We are extended the call beyond 3 PM for those who can stay online.
For those of you that are involved with a Domestic Violence or Intimate Partner violence organization in a Covid 19 mandated stay at home location. I am interested in touching base with you. I am interested in hearing if other organizations are having a similar decrease in calls or increase in severity.
Extending the call beyond 3 ^
No issues for me.
This is really great, will the email addresses of the presenters be shared or posted? Thanks!
Thank you - sounds good
This is a fantastic model! We have recently opened a Child Advocacy Centre in order to support similar goals specifically connected to abuse of children and youth, and in my opinion it’s only capturing a piece of the problem by not also including family/intimate partner violence.
Yes, we will send emails and recording to everyone on the EMAIL list.
MAKE SURE YOU SIGN UP!
Great, thank you!
^^^ Sign Up for emails ^^
We will share recording, slides and emails… but sign-up above so I can send one email to everyone
Hi Karen: In Canada, it would be wonderful to have all Child Advocacy Centres transition to Family Justice Centres.
Hi Angela…It’s Lin Haag here. I agree this is an amazing concept.
So the conversation needs to be how to share ideas to take these beautiful spaces and take this online in the time of COVID
Angela: We have a newly built facility in Toronto (North York Women’s Shelter) that looks a lot like this. You might be interested to speak with them. They had me in to do a training with their staff earlier in the year.
this is so great and timely. I am in the middle of a writing a proposal to create a centre of excellence for IPV which includes colocation of all of these professions. So motivating to hear that these are up, running and successful around the world! I had been using CYAC modeling but now I know what to put in my search engine for more lit search ;)
I know one of the complications we have had here in the USA with Family Justice Center models is for particularly marginalized communities that have often had historically complicated relationships with the justice system and some of the disproportional representation of communities of color involved in the justice system.
Awesome, Lin! Thank you.
Rachel, we also experience the same in Canada specifically with the Indigenous community.
Now the task to see how much of this can be brought online
this has been a consideration for us as well Rachel.
Thank you for those of you who could stay on past 3 PM
Not a problem katherine…not really going anywhere these days! And this is great!!
For the guide Rachel mentioned For Interim Guidance for DV programs and Information on the stay-at-home order and DV programs - see www.odvn.org
Agreed - this is great!
Lots of agencies our way are setting up crisis intervention phone lines for those in immediate need
I will send out a short survey tomorrow to everyone on the call to poll who is using phone, video or small meetings in the time of COVID to see clients. Also any ideas, or resources anyone wants to share… Watch for email and poll tomorrow
Thank you, Katherine! I like the video.
Katherine - I think many people may want to know how this is funded and how much this costs.
Thank you, Bert, Pascale, Eve, Julia, Rachel, and Katherine!
Any questions in the final few minutes?
I’d love to know what they know about TBI and if they are integrating that info into their models in any way
Me too! :)
Yes same Lin!
This has been FABULOUS!!!!! Thank you everyone!!!!!!
Thank you for organizing this!!
Thank you very much to the speakers today!! This was a great resource for all of us.
Thank you so much!
You brought up a good point, Bert, with death of a victim and TBI.
I just recently reviewed a case that I suspect was caused from a blow to the head, seizures and death.
Wonderful presentation! Bravo.
Thanks for this
