Children and teenagers are often cynical/skeptical when parents give praise - any ideas on how to get around this…
because parents invariably give a lot of praise and it loses its effectiveness.

Do you have an opinion on those who are not anxious and may be, perhaps, blindly optimistic. Such as those who believe this will be over in a month or two and when that doesn’t occur (probably), this can lead to greater despair (I.e. Stockdale paradox).

We are finding exactly the same thing here with our 15 year old daughter
My son who is 10 are same too excited not to go for 5 weeks and keep repeating himself. what should I do when the times go back in 5 weeks time?
