This has been a fun, energizing day!

Go Lauren & Jane!!!
Brenda Chamberlain hmis@ncfalliance.org
15:07
I miss talking to you two!!!!!
Jane
16:10
We miss talking to you too, Brenda!
Midori Higa
18:39
Is this like a confidence interval??
Bobbin Paskell
19:08
So the challenge is when it resets in the midst of a Learning Cycle... can be frustrating
Midori Higa
21:47
Does this mean that the median changes over time, so trying to hit a moving target?
Bobbin Paskell
22:43
@Midori - kind of, yes. But it doesn't move often
Midori Higa
22:55
Thanks Bobbin
Bobbin Paskell
25:59
And those data points feed into your case conferencing!
Eddie Turner, BFZ

Tomorrow’s 12 pm ET session, Buckets Bootcamp, will give you practical facilitation tips to use these new fields!
Keanna Johnson
27:58
OOOO I can't wait for this one!!
Eddie Turner, BFZ
28:47
It relies on this infrastructure
Lauren D'Amico, BFZ
29:51
Hi Midori! Bobbin was spot on in her response and wanted to add that the median only changes over time as it is working to established it's new baseline (so 10 data points, or 10 months of AH #s reported). Once it is set again, the improvement median locks in until a manual process happens to essentially say, "a new quality data date has been identified, therefore we need to starting working on a new improvement median". Ultimately, we want to see the improvement medians updated over time and hopefully in a downward trend to match your systems performance.
Midori Higa
30:30
Thanks so much Lauren. :)

I love this template! I have been using it and it has been working thus far. I am hoping it is my game changer!!!
Bobbin Paskell
32:01
This template is in the Tool Bank? Just checking
Eddie Turner, BFZ
32:09
Absolutely!
Eddie Turner, BFZ
32:22
The infrastructure, facilitation, and participants’ expectations are all blurring into one :)
Eddie Turner, BFZ
32:39
Get Emma’s BNL template here: https://www.joinbuiltforzero.org/resources/case-conferencing-tool-bank/
J J
34:28
Could you share this version that’s populated with this sample data? The version at the tool bank link does not have any sample data and it’s helpful to see it
Midori Higa
34:41
This may be a question for tomorrow's session, but do y'all have experience getting buckets into HMIS to make report creation easy/less cumbersome? ( I can save this question for tomorrow if need be.)
Eddie Turner, BFZ
35:04
This is the right session for that question!
Yareli Salgado - Lake County, IL

We added an assessment to capture housing track, target move-in date, housing barrier etc.
Habiba Rotter
36:33
@Yareli, Whoaaa!!
Bobbin Paskell
37:23
I think the new CE data elements might help, if you can manage to pull them into a report.
Midori Higa
37:32
Is the added assessment something the CE folks do based on Case Conferencing or the provider partners?
Midori Higa
37:48
We have trouble with providers completing assessments/updates already
Bobbin Paskell
37:54
Sys Admins (speaking with one of my hats on) can only do so much. Depends on how easy the reporting platform is to work with.
Bobbin Paskell
38:57
@Midori - I strongly recommend that you use data that you're already collecting and seeing how you can pul that into a report. Don't give them more "work" to do lol
Bobbin Paskell
40:08
All of our data comes off of the Coordinated Assessment. These are completed by all providers, not just CE staff. And we use an assessment that we created ourselves. Not VISPDAT
Shida McCormick
40:10
Any advice on setting up the flow of the by name list in HMIS. The flow meaning those who are removed from the list and returned
Bobbin Paskell
41:07
@Shida - first, what are your community's priorities... then decide how to include returning folks based on how the data presents.
Shida McCormick
41:26
Thank you
DaveDenney
41:48
Is anyone using GIS with HMIS for location and/or movement of individuals as part of BNL collection in one of the tabs?
Lauren D'Amico, BFZ
42:24
@Shida, I would add that using the existing data points (exit date and destination) can be super helpful for tracking that flow, especially if your BNL is being populated (or filtered) through your CES programs.
Bobbin Paskell
42:54
exactly Lauren
Keanna Johnson
43:04
Love that Eddie! Can't wait to hear more about that
Jane
45:30
Here's that link to the guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oidSlINTnvrz5_9LgGrioAr2MHIzqfHuROWP_diFX_o/edit
Bobbin Paskell
46:01
Lots of discussion today about these data points, but keep in mind the need to keep identifying those who are not engaged (and may not be in HMIS) and keep them on the radar
Bobbin Paskell
46:47
You have it... Share away
Keanna Johnson
47:24
Start small!!!
Bobbin Paskell
47:50
@Lauren - right! When we first started, we were like, oh no, we can't do this. But we did and making progress
Eddie Turner, BFZ
48:53
Big new data analytics powers when you install these fields
Eddie Turner, BFZ
49:19
They give you ability to find system bottlenecks faster—know where clients are getting stuck
Bobbin Paskell
49:54
Yes, thanks for evolving and growing with us
Midori Higa
51:05
Is there a list size that is ever too big?
Bobbin Paskell
51:17
@Midori - yes
Lauren D'Amico, BFZ
51:21
Thanks for letting us learn so much about these processes from the community Bobbin!
Bobbin Paskell
51:49
I have separate tabs. There's the tab for the actual case conference, and then I share the other tabs with them, which includes all chronic and those who are not engaged
Habiba Rotter
51:51
For case conferencing purposes, yes Midori! Come to my picking clients session tomorrow. We’ll address exactly that.
Midori Higa
52:11
Thanks Habiba and Bobbin!
Yareli Salgado - Lake County, IL
52:12
Something that recently came up for us was the order of the list...We're rethinking how that is presented.
Bobbin Paskell
52:23
Hey, should we come to the Buckets Bootcamp tomorrow LOLOLOL
Habiba Rotter
52:54
Wait, have you heard about buckets bootcamp tomorrow?
Bobbin Paskell
52:56
(I'll be there)
Midori Higa
53:17
Thank you!!
