Like Jesus, Janet touched all, no boundaries, rich, poor, in celebration, in sorrow, she was able to meet all that came in touch with her, with genuineness, she modelled all Jesus showed us through his life...what an amazing woman

Janet was the most godly woman I have ever met. I knew her at the Diocesan Office and also she helped us at Christchurch Summerfield when we needed help most. I will miss her. She is safely home.

The heavens have gained another bright star, one who has touched countless lives, helped the many whilst asking for so little. Such a kind soul who loved God with such energy and openness it couldn't but inspire all around her. She will be missed but never forgotten.

this chorus reminds me so much of what Janet was a about. "for you we may die, for you we may die, Through us may Jesus be seen. for you alone we will offer our lives, in this dark world our light will shine."

I had the privilege of having Janet as a friend and colleague in the Growing Younger team at CofE Birmingham. Whenever she came into the room you knew you were in the presence of someone close to Jesus. No human being can do better than that. I and all of us learnt so much from her. Thank you Lord for the gift of Janet.

Janet was our cousin, but a friend too, and a fellow pioneer and priest to me too. So many beautiful memories of her, her smile, the presence of God oozing from her. Thank you God for Janet.
Michelle Wilde
02:22:36
Janet was a real person who showed her heart. we laughed together and I teased her about turning to tears so easily. she was loving and gracious, a real person who has gone home, but will surely be missed. she brought Gods blessings wherever she went.

The last time I saw Janet, she told me she was alright! She was going to live every minute she had left, but she wanted to see martin and her parents but most of all she wanted to see Jesus.
Richard Starkie
02:35:59
Janet was authentic. Such an example to me in my own faith journey. When I last saw her and she was terminally ill, there was not any sense of self pity. only joy. What a great friend we had!

02:40:14
"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another" Janet truly embodied these words
Eileen Moore
02:41:24
Janet was one of the few people I ever knew who showed All the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I will miss her beautiful presence and joyful smile! X

02:41:34
Janet was someone who you would want to seek advice from, I remember some of that advice today, and often pass that advice on to others today. The first, and earliest bit of advice Janet imparted to me was to make big decisions twice. Make the decision, then spend a period of time praying and discerning the decision and give God the opportunity to steer you in another direction. Then make the decision again. I also remember a conversation with Janet after Martin had died, I was asking after her wellbeing. She said she was doing okay, it was tough but okay. She went on to say that although it was hard she had not lost her rock, Martin wasn't her rock, as that was Jesus. God's foundation was still there and sustaining her at that time. A powerful testimony of faith, hope and love.

02:42:40
Janet was a joy and shared such joy with everyone she met. I was ordained at the same time as Janet and she was always an inspiration. She was fun and generous and wise. God worked through her to show Jesus to so so many people. She made Jesus known through action and word and always with graciousness and gentleness. She made Jesus known and she now sees Jesus face to face. I give thanks to God for her. Praying for all Janet's family and church family x
Rachel
02:43:07
My favourite memory of Janet is the sermon she spoke at mine and Fred's wedding. 'A cord of three strands is not easily broken' that message is how we want to live our life and I am certain that is how Janet and Martin lived theirs, with God at the centre.
Martin Stand
02:43:24
I remember bumping into Janet at the dentist, Mel and I were living over in Tipton. I had toothache and was having to wait for an appointment to open up so the dentist could see me. Janet came into the waiting room and after a brief catch-up she went to reception and cancelled her appointment, so I could have it. Says it all really!

Janet welcomed me into her home in a time where I had no where else to go, she called it living as part of the family and that was true. She cared with an unending love for all people she met. I met Janet at Teddies when I took Mia 18 years ago. We would then go to the Christingle service every Christmas. It never mattered to Janet that we only went to St B’s once a year - the fact that we were there didn’t matter to her. Such a lovely kind lady who will be missed by us all. Much love to you all xx

I loved how if I was ever having to do something at the front of church she would smile and nod in a way that made me feel like it wasn't a total disaster! So encouraging even without saying anything. She was still doing that on zoom right up til the last time we saw her on there. I'm not sure she ever knew the impact she ,made and how amazing she was
