q for ric - what are you proposing for restaurants on Montgomery and garden st? 360 sf is about 3 parking spaces. For safety reasons more than 3 parking spaces would be lost. Can you tell me where parking will be provided for lost parking spaces? And can you open up Livingston St permit parking to public?

For Luciano: In terms of your benefit to your business, do you prefer your customers do takeout or dine in?
Piper Woods
57:01
q for Luciano - have they released any kind of % occupancy for inside dining?
sandrabaker
59:28
Do we know the reopening date for restaurants and retail? Has that been set already?
Luciano Valdivia (Market St)
01:00:07
Hi Vanessa: Takeout for now is the only thing we can do likely until the end of June and early July. A mixture of both after we can open the dining rooms is ideal. Seating will of course be limited, so takeout is helpful and would need to continue. I would say that patrons should make decisions about the business they want to patronize and if they can’t get a table, maybe take out.

HVEDC has proposed an detailed plan for restaurants to reopen - https://www.hvedc.com/hospitalitycovid19/
Luciano Valdivia (Market St)
01:02:16
Hi Piper - I think at this point its likely to be 25%. Our restaurant in Ulster County was notified yesterday that this is what it will be. Hopefully it will begin to increase, but it will depend on infection rates I’m confident.
Serine Hastings
01:03:01
Lila - your restricted hours for 2 weeks — do you mean the first two weeks after you’re able to reopen?
Alicia - Grand Cru Beer & Cheese Market
01:03:05
Restaurant tables have to be 6' apart minimum, so its more about space, not necessarily a % of occupancy
Michelle Andrick
01:03:48
You might consider looking to the graduating high school classes as workforce through end of year as some may be taking a gap semester and staying put depending on status of colleges in the Fall or attending online due to colleges not opening.

Phase 2 Retail guidance pretty clearly states that customers must wear face coverings (see II: A) https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/RetailMasterGuidance.pdf
Luciano Valdivia (Market St)
01:08:32
HI Alicia - What I’m being told is that it will be a reduction in actual capacity by 75%. If your occupancy is 100, it will be 25.
Suzanna, Oblong Books
01:08:41
“Responsible parties must ensure that customers are only permitted entry into the retail store if they wear an acceptable face covering; provided, however, that the customer is over the age of two and able to medically tolerate such covering.”

01:09:08
Question for Melaine: have you heard of any larger, organized marketing campaigns for Shop Local Dutchess or Think Local First that Rhinebeck should be part of?
Piper Woods
01:09:08
q for lila/ric levitt - are there grants avail out there that enjoyrhinebeck or village of Rhinebeck or similar to access to promote shopping local or a specific campaign
Piper Woods
01:12:39
dutchess county website has some more specific info for phases including phase 2
Edward Coviello
01:14:23
We had also talked about the possibility of retail stores using the parking area in front . Any thing on this
Joanne Gelb
01:15:01
People are confused when they see people without masks going in to say CVS and some verbal disagreements have come up. So perhaps if you have a policy about masks, either whether they are required or not you might want to have it posted so people don’t get upset or get into arguments.

Will the same barrier or fence be required for the street patios? Historically this has been an SLA requirement as there needs to be a defined space to serve drinks. If you look at existing patios, you will notice this.

01:22:48
Just a thought for Ric- as opposed to setting up an allotted space for each restaurant for outdoor dining, maybe we should look at what they are doing in Needham, MA, and setting up outdoor picnic tables for socially distant communal dining to encourage people to enjoy their takeout in a safe and routinely sanitized area. This area would be permitted to consume alcohol.
