Hello! I work at KCUR with Sarah Morris and Briana O'Higgins. I"m zooming in to listen to them speak about DEIB.
Jim Schachter - NHPR
to KCUR: How did you avoid the problem of junior people and people of color on the staff not feeling put upon to solve problems that they might have regarded as management’s responsibility?
Debbie Hiott, KUT & KUTX
If anyone has suggestions/experience on the pay equity study, feel free to email me at email@example.com. Thanks!
I have to jump off to pitch for our fund drive. Thanks for giving CapRadio the floor. We have a long way to go with our DEI work, but we are no longer patient with incremental change. Thankfully, this is a new day!
we also signed on to PM4A
Sally Kane, NFCB
NFCB as well. They are very willing to present to your organization as well. We didithat at NFCB and it went vey well.
Awesome! When we signed on there were only 4 other stations. I think we're now 22.
Did Jun say there were no leadership members in their affinity group??
There are not, no
Is that by design?
I don't think it's just for non-leadership people, but there are few POCs in leadership at the moment
Who is represented in the affinity group? volunteers, board members
Are concerns shared up with leadership? How?
Jun is the highest POC at CapRadio, we do have an editor who is a POC, but in between them, there are no other POCs, I think it'd be a discussion if we did eventually have a POC in leadership
firstname.lastname@example.org in case you have any questions
We bring concerns via our DEI group which does have leadership on board
And email@example.com if you have questions. I also bring any concerns that are okayed by the group up to Jun
Also, the affinity group is anyone at CapRadio who's a POC, we're mostly reporters though!
