How the heck did the PRC estimate "density" at 1.2%(avg. over the past several years) and the USPS comes in in December and says the rate factor is 4.5%. Big difference! How did that happen?
Shannon McCracken | TNPA

Repeating Steve's math: 6-6.5% increase for compensatory mail … 8-8.5% increase for non-compensatory mail.

.., end of June, early July (2021!) for expected rate increase implementation.

it is so challenging to get a letter to one of your senators or representative -I spent hours to accomplish this
Abby Graf | TNPA
44:17
Brother Tobias - that is something Mark could help with. If it is easier to get your letter to Mark, he can get it to your Members of Congress.

he was great to work with - I mailed my letters

We currently incur manufacturing costs to reduce our postage costs. Do you think it's possible that we start losing those savings in the restructuring? Stop paying those manufacturing costs?
Phil Claiborne
49:24
How do you overcome the standard response letter from Congress? Perhaps send it to the local office? (And engage a local LA)
Tobias Dammert

The website did not let me attach my own stationary

I'll be spreading the word to my organizations -- What is the deadline for submitting?
Gary Weinberg, DM Pros
57:09
Are you asking us to sign on the web site AND send a letter? Or, do one OR the other?
britt.vatne@adstradata.com
57:33
If you don't have a relationship with either Senator or House Rep, is it ok to send the letter to all three?
Phil Claiborne
57:56
Can you characterize the recent denial of a stay to the PRC Order for reason of lacking "imminent harm." Was this genius on the part of the PRC to spread-out the "harm" over 5 years?

If, down the road, the court rules against this, can PRC/USPS appeal? Do rates drop back to CPI? How quickly?
Katelyn Belyus
01:03:56
And even medicine comes by mail
Katelyn Belyus
01:04:44
which actually makes me wonder… will pharma companies ask for exemption on the rates?
Phil Claiborne
01:06:38
I would like to hear more discussion about how big the $$'s inuring to the USPS over 5 years compared to today. (I think it is as much as 1/4th more of their current revenue...with no going back...it's baked in forever. IS THIS NOT MORE REVENUE than they will ever need? (Assuming the volume in the system does not drop out.)
Phil Claiborne
01:07:42
Will they not go from losing money to making too much money?
Joe Gomez
01:10:25
Hi & Thank you all for the information. Joe Gomez from PS & President of the DMFA - When is it time to add the delivery/quality issues to our political push and message.
Phil Claiborne
01:10:41
One of my Senators is Ron "Don Johnson. (I'm not going to write him! I'll save that hour and do something actually productive).
Donald McCrabb
01:11:06
Would the Biden Faith Based Office to of any assistance? Also, there is a human rights issue here. As it has been suggested, those of us who are older, we prefer paper bills, information, etc.

If new, higher rates are implemented in June or July, does that reset the annual rate increase calendar--no longer expected in January as it has been for years?

Amazon spent billions with USPS in packages last year. That will drop significantly with Amazon adding tremendous amount of planes and delivery vehicles. just a comment .
Stephen Kearney | ANM
01:22:31
Meta, we don't know whether USPS will change the regular schedule. I would guess they will change it to July. I don't think they will want two increases a year.
Kathy Caudill
01:22:34
Thanks for the link, Shannon!

01:23:07
Can I just say this PRC Order is historic in that much of the hard earned battles won in past rate cases and establishment of the rate cap … is being completely undone.
Katelyn Belyus
01:26:26
I work for a news organization. We’ve always tackled USPS rates hurting us as a restriction of the freedom of the press… is this angle being pursued by the MPA or other orgs?
Joe Gomez
01:27:54
Thank you again, great information!

Not the VA in all states. Veterans are often left waiting for their meds in the mail sent by 1st class postage. I've experienced this personally with my parents that are both veterans and not receiving their meds in a timely manner and suffering without them.

For those of us serving rural communities, the lack of access to broadband and poor connectivity forces these communities to rely on the mail, on printed periodicals and other mailed communications vs. accessing info online.
Katelyn Belyus
01:30:29
Yes @Vicki - and voter registration will also be affected.
Katelyn Belyus
01:30:46
So that may be a way to convince your reps
Katelyn Belyus
01:31:13
You could argue that increasing mail rates will in turn be an act of voter suppression.
