Eddie Turner, BFZ
27:52
I HATE it when I feel like a friend is trying to “facilitate” me!
Matthew Brest (Phoenix, AZ)
28:13
don't fake it, you've got some real empathy in there somewhere!
Eddie Turner, BFZ
28:14
It’s gotta feel real, or people can tell
Kat Jacobs (she/her), City of Tucson
28:59
So important! I remember my first supervisor would just say "I don't know, just get them housed!" and throw up her hands. Burn out city.
Eddie Turner, BFZ
29:22
Ack! Incredible example of prioritizing outcomes over being in the work with people
Eddie Turner, BFZ

BSantiago
43:34
I like what you are sharing Habiba!
Jessica
47:01
OMG. Just what I was about to ask......I run into some staff open to sharing their wisdom, and others who have zero interest in working with others. Yet the clients are who are missing out on the resources.
Elizabeth Murray
48:08
I like to share out housing success stories that took collaborative efforts and name the collaborators--really make an example of what can happen when we work as team...celebrate that.
Matthew Brest (Phoenix, AZ)
48:19
It's hard on zoom, you have to get people over that extra hump of hitting "unmute," a lot of body language is missing
Rick Ramos
48:32
Heather is an amazing facilitator!
Emma Beers, BFZ (She/Her)
48:46
That's great, Elizabeth! Everyone love to win and be celebrated.
Elizabeth Murray

Have to find out what benefits them and bring it into the discussion
Elizabeth Murray
50:06
Exactly! 😊
Jessica
53:10
Yes! It's pulling teeth to get staff to identify target move-in dates.
Keanna Johnson
53:14
Emma gave me a GREAT suggest for that. Set it anyway even if it is far off, but once they see others setting move in dates sooner, they will be on board as well.
Jessica
53:15
The struggle is real
Samantha Earnshaw, LSS
54:24
I have always believed in housing people quickly!!
Jessica
54:35
It seems like they are afraid to commit to a date. Even though it's been repeatedly stated the date is not written in stone. We assess and re-assess each time we case conference
Eddie Turner, BFZ
55:04
In the case conferencing improvement cohort in January, we’ll go deep into bring your team onboard to target move-in dates
Keanna Johnson
57:04
Culture of urgency. Love that!
Eddie Turner, BFZ
58:06
Celebration is a necessary part of LEARNING!
Yareli Salgado - Lake County, IL
58:22
Trying to figure out how to celebrate virtually. If anyone has any ideas let me know!
Amy Bickford
58:45
wonder if anyone has ideas for ways to celebrate, especially in virtual environment
Emma Beers, BFZ (She/Her)
59:09
I don't know if Jessica or Thanh are on from Nassau County, but they've done a great job celebrating wins virtually!
Torrie
59:28
We used to send out fun memes via email when someone was housed as a way to celebrate. We got away from that, but are bringing it back!
Lizzy Ortiz
59:56
Can you share the memes??
Jessica
01:00:33
Yareli and Amy - I am a big fan of ringing my cow bell! I get super excited and tend to sound pretty dumb. But I don't care, I ring that bell (LOUDLY) and provide as much verbal praise as my little brain can think of!
Jessica
01:00:51
Torrie - Love the meme idea!
Torrie
01:00:53
@Lizzy - Each person just finds a meme and sends it out based on how they are feeling!
Lizzy Ortiz
01:01:03
Would you and / or Eddie attend our next Youth & Young adult case conference???
Amy Bickford
01:01:04
thanks Jessica...I've heard of the bell idea...need to get one
Torrie
01:01:18
P.S. The meme idea came from another Built for Zero Community....can't remember which!
Jessica Labia
01:01:23
I'm here! We dedicate time in every case conferencing meeting to celebrate successes. We've also allowed the partners on our team to celebrate accomplishments that they've made that may be separate from the cases we've been discussing. Celebrating accomplishments definitely helps with motivation!
Eddie Turner, BFZ
01:01:30
Virtual celebrations: Remember “Student of the Month” in elementary school? I can imagine some version of that in case conf to highlight a staff member who did something cool or clever or persistent to house somebody last week
Eddie Turner, BFZ
01:02:00
Lizzy, someone from BFZ will! Email me, and we’ll figure it out. eturner@community.solutions
