what was the email for the printed material
Linda Tremblay
01:47:28
Lauren....All of my staff are wearing masks as soon as they enter the building. We have not had any issues. Staff has been very good about it. It is getting warmer out now, so the cloth masks are getting really warm. Our infant teachers have stated that the babies at first were really sort of afraid of them at first. After the first week of constant wearing them, they seem to be okay with it now. I do worry about the interaction and facial expressions that the babies are missing though.
Katie Brissette, Early Learning NH

I have a question for Mimi for additional screening moving forward.
pbgilmore6
01:53:23
Questions for Mimi: How many staff, children have gotten sick? How many are using leaves?
Melissa Fowler
01:53:32
If we do re open can we re open for all our families or is it still for the essential employees??
Linda MacGillvary
01:54:24
Question for Mimi: Are staff wearing masks while outside with the children?
Julie McConnell, Early Learning NH
01:54:28
Thanks for sharing Mimi! How is the mask wearing going with introducing children to staff wearing masks?
Haley Gardner
01:54:31
0 at SNHS Head Start and Early Headstart as well!!!!
Linda Tremblay
01:54:41
@mimi I just told my staff the same exact thing the other day. No sicknesses at all in the last 5 weeks
Kim McKenney
01:54:59
o at Easterseals!
lynn
01:55:19
Are children wearing masks?
Dianne Chase
01:55:26
That is correct
Christina DAllesandro
01:55:44
I have a hard of hearing child who lipreads and I know that some centers are looking at masks that still allow for expression to be seen
pbgilmore6
01:55:55
Q’s Mimi: So none of your staff are parents of school aged children? None of your staff have been potentially exposed to the virus?
Dianne Chase
01:55:58
We have only had secondary exposure - parent got it and child was quarantined
ahehir
01:56:02
Mimi: Could you share how you handle if a child's parent is self-monitoring OR tests positive?
Lorraine Greer Greer
01:56:06
Can I ask about the childhood illness seen in the closers states
Dianne Chase
01:56:21
No children should not be wearing masks
Marianne Barter
01:56:29
I'm here, just muted :)
katelyn Dennis
01:56:42
You can open for all the business that are allowed to be open. The essential list is very very broad. Every time the Governor updates the list you can accept them
Rochester Child Care
01:56:48
Great Job on the Exchange - if you give us a heads up we could have called in!
Jessica
01:56:50
Diane the CDC is recommending everyone over the age of 2 wear masks in Child Care Programs
Debra.J.Nelson
01:57:15
That was a no, children should not be wearing masks.
katelyn Dennis
01:57:21
example: retail can be open & golf courses, dentists. These were just added to the "essential" list
Melissa Fowler
01:57:42
ok thank you
Christina DAllesandro
01:57:46
Also - you can take children who you deem vulnerable or families that you decide are vulnerable
Christina DAllesandro
01:58:01
This is not a DCYF definition
Debra.J.Nelson
01:58:05
Yes, that is correct.
Katy
01:58:12
Sorry I was late. computer issues. Katy Aveni Newton Learning Center.
katelyn Dennis
01:58:24
The CDC recommends masks over the age of 2.... However go to NAEYC it is not recommended for any child to wear a mask in the childcare setting. To the grocery store...yes
Dianne Chase
01:59:32
And vulnerale children!!
katelyn Dennis
01:59:35
We just got face shields so children can see face
Christina DAllesandro
01:59:38
You can also take vulnerable children
lynn
01:59:50
What about children wearing masks?
Debra.J.Nelson
02:00:00
Actually, it was Dianne (:
Katie Brissette, Early Learning NH
02:00:12
Sorry! Thank you, Dianne!
Lorraine Greer Greer
02:00:36
I would like to ask about the new childhood disease we are seeing and the additional screening we might or should be doing?
Katy
02:00:37
We are open and all along, we are not wearing masks.
kbrown
02:00:49
To make more space for children as businesses reopen and we are social distancing what are the space requirements for the 8:2 ratio? Can we reconfigure spaces to make 2 out of 1?
Dianne Chase
02:01:32
Please add the vulnerable children as a group they can serve
Kim McKenney
02:01:45
Mimi - how are you handling the decreased enrollment with the recommendation of only 10 in a room. We have families looking to return and cannot fit them in. I realize this is only a recommendation, but where do we draw the line with safety and affording to stay open. HELP!
Linda Tremblay
02:03:21
@kim Mckenney. Thank you for asking this.
Tasha Jones
02:03:29
@MiMIO'Connor Where do we get the cloth masks for staff.
pbgilmore6
02:03:47
Mimi - So you have no staff with school aged children at home? You have no workers who have had potential exposure?
Rochester Child Care
02:04:10
how can we get our supplies, I have sent an email but have not heard back - tx
Debra.J.Nelson
02:04:29
It also means risk due to poverty (e.g., Head Start)
katelyn Dennis
02:04:56
state of https://prd.blogs.nh.gov/dos/hsem/?page_id=8451 mask link you pick up at DMV
Christina DAllesandro
02:05:43
Thank you for this definition - and for respecting the perspective of child care workers who know their families!
ahehir
02:06:03
Mimi O'Connor - you mentioned that you have a plan for if a child or staff member tests positive (though you haven't had to use the plan). Could you share?
Mimi O'Connor
02:06:15
@pbgilmore6 We have had no known staff with an exposure. We do have staff with school age children at home (including myself) so we have arranged schedules as best we can.
Rochester Child Care
02:06:34
To Diane: how long will disaster billing be allowed?

1) The emergency provisions for child care scholarship payments do not end May 10th. Since the Governor extended the Stay-at-Home Order with Emergency Order #40, we will continue to bill under the provisions outlined earlier. We will notify all NH Child Care Scholarship program providers when the emergency provisions are anticipated to change.
Debra.J.Nelson
02:08:04
We are looking at this issue, as we look at our financial capacity. Will let you know just as soon as possible.
Melissa Fowler
02:09:41
Has anyone altered their hours to accomodate for more thorough cleaning at the end of the day?? Or have you closed at your regular time and stayed late to do the added cleaning??
Alyssa Belanger
02:09:51
are new students being added to the scholarship program? I have a student who's link expired in January. he still does not appear as an active link
Linda Tremblay
02:10:50
Thank you everyone for all that you do. I know it's a very fluid situation right now. As frustrating as it is. I understand and respect you guys and know what is in your hands currently is all that you can be doing at this time. Thank you!
kbrown
02:11:14
The CDC recommendation states that outside Playground equipment does not need to wiped down. However, the next bullet point under this statement says that plastic surfaces and metal ladders should be wiped down before it is used again. Does anyone know the protocol from the state regarding outdoor program equipment?
Olga
02:11:14
What is the best way to conduct background check for new employee?
Jessica
02:12:48

Alyssa Belanger
02:14:06
how quickly do ECCP applications get approved?
Mimi O'Connor
02:14:39
@KimMcKenney we are struggling with this too. We are continuing to follow the recommendation and thinking about how we can accomodate those looking to return, as well as use inside and outside space as best we can, but it is a large impact on our program.
Linda Tremblay
02:15:06
Are we going to have to continue as an ECCP after the stay at home order is lifted May 31st?
marti.ilg
02:15:13
Yes
Mimi O'Connor
02:15:42
@ahehir feel free to email me and I can share what we have as a plan.
Mimi O'Connor
02:17:03
@Lorraine Greer we have routine daily screening that I am happy to share.
Debra.J.Nelson
02:17:33
Jackie, can you unmute me?
Dianne Chase
02:18:04
ECCP applications are being done as quickly as possible I am now averaging 20 a day so I my goal is 48 to 72 hours max
Lorraine Greer Greer
02:18:06
Mimi-
Rochester Child Care
02:18:35
Rochester - we are having trouble finding staff who are ready to come back
Christina DAllesandro
02:19:24
I am certainly hearing from families who only want to go back to “their” centers
Alyssa Belanger
02:20:04
The $600 unemployment bonus with unemployment is hard for staff to walk away from. Staff earns more being unemployed than working and risking infection
Lorraine Greer Greer
02:20:21

Olga
02:20:39
Are thermometers available now? Can we get them a couple of days prior re-opening?
Rochester Child Care
02:20:55
Rochester - more families can come back than we have staff to work with them
Dianne Chase
02:21:11
Yes, there are thermometers available. There is a Saturday pickup available, just sign up
Rochester Child Care
02:21:29
Yes, please on the thermometers
Olga
02:21:30

Melissa Fowler
02:22:02

iPad (3)
02:22:16
Do you think we can get supplies a week before we reopen?
Rochester Child Care
02:22:17
The staff are also worried re: their health and family members (some live with grandparents)
katelyn Dennis
02:22:27
staff comments: though they are making more on unemployment...…. luckily we haven't had all this as a problem, but..... we also have said we cannot guarantee their employment if they do not come back without a documented reason. We would have to hire. I feel very blessed so far most of our employees are cautious, but also extremely excited to come back.

02:22:49
how long will the incentive pay last?
Rochester Child Care
02:23:14
staff are hearing "stay home" every day - so they are feeling conflicted
Owner
02:23:38
Storybook Hollow - How do we apply for the incentive pay?
katelyn Dennis
02:23:44
incentive pay june 30th... but there is federal talk about extending. There may be restrictions on the extensions example: have you been offered employment...etc.
katelyn Dennis
02:24:12
sorry not incentive pay unemployment pay
Olga
02:24:40
is there a link for incentive pay info?
Rochester Child Care
02:25:12
unemployment currently extends the $600 until July 31 but I heard it may be extended
Debra.J.Nelson
02:25:52
Yes. We are considering this in the mix of emergency policy options against available funding.
marti.ilg
02:26:26
3) Do child care programs who plan to reopen after May 18th still need an ECCP designation? Yes. As long as the Stay-at-Home Order (now the Governor’s Emergency Order #40) is in place.

Any info with Anti-body testing? So far testing has been issued to positive people who were tested during a viral load. Do I understand only primary care physicians can refer for testing. Staff really want to seek some reassurance to come back to work when the Stay at Home orders lift.

Alyssa Belanger
02:27:27
can someone address PPP? I am concerned/leary that the rollup of funding is based on DY2019. Do 100% of the staff have to come back? I'm concerned about the fact that I have fewer staff now than CY2019. Will I be at risk for fines?
