Community Action had an information meeting on homeless issues in April. The recording is available. They reported on a transition housing project under construction in Burlington,

converting the upstairs of an office building to 34 affordable units.

The Burlington project is where the American Legion building is currently. I posted the news article on my Facebook page. Barriers are also requiring credit reports before renting to folks, and they might need some coaching about being good renters. This is what my young friends are telling me.

The barriers could be discussed at a LWV listening meeting …. maybe start with ones in Burlington, Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Concrete?

or just one Skagit County meeting to start the process?

About distributing the book-- there are home school people, and the Mt Vernon Christian School?

Kathy Phfal, retired librarian from MV high school-- I saw her at the MV library a few weeks ago at a puppet show, with her grandchild!
