How can we best address and meet the social-emotional needs of our young children? How can we meet the needs of our childcare teachers/providers?

I’m interested in knowing about recommended procedures for a small home daycare, with 3-5 children between 6 mos - 3 years old. Is it possible to keep these young children from different homes safe in the same space?

How do you encourage social distancing with four year olds? How can you help them understand why this is important without getting stressed.

Is there common wisdom/best practice developed yet re: face coverings and young students? What’s the youngest age to encourage face covering?

Can you share outside activities the children enjoy safely?

Do four year olds grouped in a bubble or pod need to wear masks?

My childcare center, following VDHHS guidance, plans to shut down completely for two weeks should any household member of any student test positive. This seems inevitable and potentially endless. Is there appetite to revisit this guidance (for example, just shutting down individual classrooms)?

How can we prepare - emotionally - for cold & flu season this winter? When lots of kids will have perpetually runny noses, and maybe a cough, are we thinking that entire classrooms are going to shut down? (I’m asking for preschool/PreK age range)
