2nd article author Jonathan Morgan from UNC School of Gov?
Krista, that is the same Jonathan Morgan
Ashlie, you are not alone. Toronto Global faces the same issue, we cover 5 regions with 13 municipalities.
Ontario's BRE program:https://www.ontario.ca/page/business-retention-and-expansion-program
Oh yes, OMAFRA has the BRE program. I did the course but I wanted to find someone for the urban cores. They do a lot of work with rural communities so that's great.
Are there common situations that come up in surveys
At my previous job, we always asked to help them enroll in the MWBE database.
I'm stepping away for a quick moment, i need to sign a document really quick.

Our process is to send out an electronic survey through survey monkey that gathers mostly quantitative data but there are some open ended responses. This is anonymous but people can list their name and business at the end as an option. After the online survey we follow up with interviews through visitations. The interviews might be around 6 open ended questions and sometimes we might have 3 different interview questions based on information we want to gather in a particular industry. This helps build trust through community conversations and you don't need to be so strict about asking the questions in a particular way because the interviews are qualitative responses.
Steven Baham in Baton Rouge?
Thank you Jason!
For surveys I know sometimes the questions lead the business to land on a certain answer. I forget the right terminology but I have seen that in some surveys so it makes the answers bias. I have always done interviews and focus groups. This will be my first time doing the surveys.
I believe you're referring to leaving questions. Avoid these kind of questions when building your survey.
Yes, thank you. That's what I saw. It made me wonder that they didn't provide too many options.
I kept a landline.
Ohio has the best BRE surveys they still do it.
How can we do that
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question.
Sorry. I was just wondering, would it be good to paper surveys rather than online. Ohio does paper surveys and still get responses from people.
OMAFRA stated that for BRE surveys, Ohio is a leader in it.
I'll speak to this in the next section.
I wanted to know how would another city or town get to that level being recognized for their BRE programs similar to Ohio.

I have to leave in 3 minutes because I have another meeting. I do want to make sure I understand the Homework assignment. It says we need to review Regional Enterprise Networks Start-Up Guide (February 2014). I don't see this listed on the resources for the course. Where can we find this?
Thank you! See you Tuesday.
