The W9 was a barrier for our rental assistance program but if that is no longer the issue this might really help folks in our communities.

How far into the future will Unpaid Rent or Utilities be paid?
Tiffany Berry
34:08
I was told up to 15 months but that was few months ago.
Alex Werth, East Bay Housing Organizations

The W9 is required for landlords. However, landlords no longer need to apply for tenants to receive payment to give to their landlord. And the program will not share any information with any other agencies.

@Jan, here’s the description from the RFP: Funding is available for non-profit, community-based, and/or faith-based organizations with a demonstrated history of providing services or assistance to low-income and marginalized communities in Contra Costa County. To receive priority consideration, applicants should be based in the communities that they will serve. Applicants must have 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), or 501(c)(6) tax-exempt status or have a fiscal agent, sponsor, or partner that can receive and disburse grant funds on their behalf. Governmental or quasi-governmental agencies that work closely with impacted communities may also apply. If you have any questions about eligibility, please contact Mariana Moore (mmoore@richmondcf.org) or Stacey Street (sstreet@richmondcf.org).
