Hello everyone, we are new neighbors buying a house in Castle Rock Estates. Moving out from Texas - Tom and Marti Mattia.

Jon Mersereau is on his way!

57:59
Ducks are on at 4

01:14:30
What’s your timeline for purchasing?

01:16:05
Apologies if you’ve already mentioned this, but is there a sense of an updated timeline for this project and are there any deadlines imposed by existing funding sources like the Forest Legacy Grant? How quickly do you expect to have to raise that $5.3 million?

01:16:59
Can you go back to the map and describe the boundaries and neighbors of the area?

01:17:23
My wife and I live in Arch Cape north of Hug Point, we and our neighbors have been fighting off an effort by ODF to sell timber in the forest lands just across the highway from us -- with some success, How dioes this forest land connect with the Arch Capre Forest

01:17:53
Can you provide a link to this meeting so it can be posted on the Clatsop County website? I have a followup question, too.

01:18:29
Yep I’m good!

01:20:57
I think it is adjacent

01:21:02
From Nadia

01:21:11
Correct Mike

01:21:25
How would you characterize the health of this forest? Is there any upfront restoration or similar work you anticipate?

01:24:26
Ben, is this work factored into the $5.3 million, or is that a separate budget?

01:24:56
Thank you!

01:28:25
The federal grant requires 25% of the total budget be nonfederal funds. That money could be from DEQ loan forgiveness, state and private grants, private donations, and timber revenue

01:34:49
Concerning the Hug Point 19 Road project: The land was closed for 2-1/2 months during prime summer recreation time. When we were allowed to re-enter, the Hug Point 19 Road is no longer passable north to south and is not likely to be passable for 7-10 more months. What happened and what is the new plan?

01:34:52
My family recently purchased land in south Arch Cape and we'd like to improve the diversity and overall health of the forest. Are there any local resources and/or books you can recommend regarding palustrine wetlands and upland forest restoration/enhancement?

01:35:53
Talk to North Coast Watershed Association

01:36:47
Thanks!

01:38:37
not clear how ongoing maintenance will be paid for. I thought timber harvest was being looked at to pay for this. can someone clarify?

01:38:45
Thank you.

01:41:31
To Commissioner Thompson’s question on making the template for this project available, the NW Community Forest Coalition is a group of practitioners who share their knowledge and has a website https://nwcommunityforests.org

01:42:39
what are some historical recreational uses of the property and what are some possibilities for the future?

01:42:41
Ben, let’s talk!

01:43:08
do you have a phase 2 acquisition plan. for instance the rectangular parcel next to the triangle?

01:45:33
where is the access for walkers

01:48:10
