Do we have some research material that one can read through that supports this information? Is there any data on teen pregnancy?
Sandra Flores
37:25
Is your team working with CPS? Are they prepared for an increase in reporting? Does CPS have the bandwidth?
Emily Bahne
37:52
I’m a foster parent of a 13 month old and cps did not even come to evaluate the unsupervised visit site prior to moving to unsupervised visits. there are few protections in place for foster parents doing visits with parents. we are left to our own devices to manage visits with parents. I knew the system was broken but there is a need for huge reforms in the department. more supports for social workers. more trauma supports and more trauma informed trainings. we need to take this opportunity to change this system for kids.
Justine Nelson
38:51
Are there signs you can share of emotional or verbal abuse in virtual learning or other settings? I know this is harder to detect.
Michele Copher
39:16
@Terry Solis Our FCSS office has some teen pregnancy data and I'll ask my colleague Kayla Wilson to reach out to you via email.
Brooke Frost

That's really helpful to know. Most kids end up staying with their families (maybe with support if needed?)

@Rebekah Agreed! We encourage those working with children virtually to identify red flags and use that as a starting point to engage the child and family to assess for family stressors, offer support or if necessary, report to CPS. The goal is early identification and prevention. We recognize that many CA indicators can mimic typical stressors that a family may be experiencing in these stressful times.
meredith wiley
57:54
may ly, I will put a hold the date for the Hmong resources Fair in Our Children this week starting on Monday to run until event takes place. love this term "cultural congruence" - very important
Emily Bahne
01:01:09
Why are the contracted mental health providers not able to travel with them after family maintenance? when relationship is so important why can’t families keep their mental health and infant mental health provider? why aren’t developmental services not an automatic qualification when we know the social emotional consequences of removal? 3 months of family maintenance is not enough for some of these very vulnerable famikies
Brooke Frost
01:01:57

From Rebekah Rodrigues: I worked with a Program called Birth & Beyond in Sacramento . Excellent Program with the intent to not only prevent, but identify high risk children for child abuse with provision of mental health ;AOD and many community supports. A Program like this as well as Crisis Nursery is needed for Fresno County. Long overdue
