Good Evening all. I do want to clarify one important point to manage expectations. The Liquor Board has no jurisdiction over open containers in public. Our inspectors could interact if an establishment was obviously letting open containers go away from their establishment within our view. However, we cannot enforce or do anything about open containers in general, especially for those who are bringing their own alcohol.

Thank you, Sara!

Sara- that was data driven and informative and thank you so much for putting this together. Plus much of this happened within the last 48 hours, which isn’t easy to put together so quickly.

@matt, what entity does have the ability to address open containers in general and BYO alcohol?
Matt Achhammer
38:33
@sara, that is a BPD matter.

We’ve asked the same of some 3 wheelers and have been told to F-off (sorry for the language). Some things are getting dangerous and aggressing when we ask.
Brooke Lierman

Yep, not everyone is the same. For sure.

Can we move beyond presence to actual enforcement?
Kate Simms
01:03:04
It was quiet because of the bad weather. Sunday it all started again
Sara's iPhone
01:05:17
Yes. Do not confuse weather-related air cover for a real abatement of issues.

Now that the restaurants are able to resume to 100% capacity, what is the lifespan of the parklets? That would help with the traffic and parking too.
Scott Seiler
01:21:59
Does he have this ability under emergency powers or does it last forever?
Kim Stanbro
01:23:17
Right- Scott- I thought this was Covid relief, not a forever thing. It sounds like the restaurants are at over 100% capacity now that they have the outdoor seating that is in the former visitor parking spaces. Would be good to find this out. Thanks Ginny for the information- I had no idea.
Scott Seiler
01:25:09
With all the process we have in the city, I'd be shocked if the mayor holds the sole authority to decree parklets and outdoor drinking...
Scott Seiler
01:26:03
so does Main Street reserve the right to cancel their own permit and pull the rights from the restaurants to operate outside? Do the restuarants operate under your permit at your discretion?
Scott Seiler
01:27:49
Thanks Ginny!
Kim Stanbro
01:28:40
Thank you, Ginny. This was a good informative session. Much appreciated.

Requesting that FPRA please oppose the upcoming Chap request by Chasen Development to construct a five story, full lot coverage at 1517 Eastern Ave. at least until plans are disclosed to Neighbors, Task Force and other associations.
