I am also interested in “love-based” education - P Moore’s work aligns with what I aim to bring into my work with children and their parents. :) Annette
Super Cool Andrea!
My mic isn’t working…I teach in a hybrid homeschool
I believe heart and relationship is at the core of education and life, for that matter.
I am interested in learning what our seminar presenters have to share. :)
I am Tracy in Ontario, Canada. I was curious what you have to say.

@Shatiera Feel free to reach out: firstname.lastname@example.org =)
What's your email/background?
This is AMAZING! This is what more folks need to attempt to help the paradigm shift - rather than feeling like educators must run and create an entirely new program. VERY impressive, ladies!
This is Barry - and anybody can reach me at my email at: email@example.com. You can also take a look at my short fun video on Youtube in the Emperor’s New Clothes tradition. NYC Dominican descent Kindergarten kids ask each other questions that adults have challenges with - and usually have better answers than adults. They share MY WISH FOR THE WORLD and put the basics of life better than any politician in 30 seconds. They say: Everybody should be FRIENDS, HELP EACH. OTHER ETC. They say the title: NO ADULTS LEFT BEHIND. Put that into the title bar.
My recently published book, Pockets of Freedom: Unlocking the Power of Intuitive Teaching and Learning shares stories by three teachers who created freedom spaces for their students to develop self-agency, to follow their passions in public ed institutions.
Where is "Sci High"?
Ditto! I know a family in FL that is looking for something similar!! :)
@Barry - can you share the link to the YouTube video you mention?
In John Gatto’s last book: WEAPONS OF MASS INSTRUCTION is all about when compulsory education became a law sponsored by Carnegie and Rockefeller who put money in everyone’s pocket. Gatto uncovers the original notes passed around by the educational committee behind the Compulsory Law. Incredibly it says: ONE OF THE MAIN PURPOSES OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IS TO MAKE SURE CHILDREN NEVER GET TO TRUST THEMSELVES, and Parents and their Children never trust each other also. You are a stamped machine to go on the assembly line and become part of the herd.
@Barry what if some of the child psychologists would like more cases? Will they want to ? It’s an awful question - but in a capitalist system - much of everything has become a money spinner.
Asmith great question
If you would like to find a path to human centered education - Shinichi Suzuki (founder of the Suzuki violin playing program where kids start at 3 and the parent is also present with every lesson the child takes. He calls his program The Mother Tongue Method where parents are encouraged to know they will be the best teachers their children will ever have. He puts it all together like this: Education should be the number one priority of every country and all the most creative and talented people should be the teachers because you are helping to mold and shape the lives of a future generation.”
what school was this?
The one that was closed?
In Iowa the Price Laboratory School at the University of Northern Iowa was closed in 2012
WHOOPS….The name of the book by Suzuki is called: NURTURED BY LOVE. Incidentally - Suzuki tells the story when he went to Germany to take music lessons with a Concerto Violinist - before all the crap happened. His neighbor happened to be ALBERT EINSTEIN and they played violin together - and Suzuki was mentored by Einstein for 3 years. If this happened to you - can you imagine if it might take you to a higher level? Talk about self directed learning by yourself outside the classroom.
What is the name of the S CA school you are describing?
The School of Arts and Enterprise in Pomona, CA
Did you know that the literacy rate in the US going back to 1840-50 was over 90%. The present day literacy rate has gone all the way down to about 66%

A look into the future that can be proven with hard research is that 4 year olds are the best natural systems thinkers by age - they out perform high school students in creative problem solving.
Thank you ladies!
much gratitude for your presentation!
