Will RTC be using non-housing lawyers to fill the gap? That can sometimes be unpredictable at best.

Is there anyone organizing to show up for tenants who need repairs but are being harassed - like to witness what the landlord's people do in their apartment if they have an HP case?

01:05:41

I've been able to help an undocumented client to get funding to help with at least 3 months of rent, client has to experience a domestic violence in order to qualify for the funding and prove with bank statements and backed up bills to get help. The application is the Zakat fund of NYC- Survivor Support

Hopefully one of these bills can address the problematic issue that landlords refusing repairs & harassing tenants can't necessarily be trusted to come make them without any supervision or oversight - when the landlord starts treating you like an adversary, it can be pretty scary to let them barge into your home and do whatever they want

what happens to families who do not have internet and may not be able to have a virtual court session?
Catherine Keys
01:11:43
Yeah and they can do a "no access" holdover to evict someone over repairs AND avoid all the moratorium protections that only apply to non-payments - mine did one before I could file an HP, thanks for addressing that
Carissa Guadron
01:13:26
