Where to Operational Value Streams fit in? Are they part of a portfolio? How are they funded?
David Hiatt
28:21
While executives are busy and some may welcome this, many not easily release this control. When its funding changes, this is a big leap for some organizations. Are there any keys to preparing for those conversations you would recommend? Would this be one of the SAFe workshops led by an SPC to get an organization to change their way of operating. There may not be a single answer, but to influence a company’s leaders to make this kind of fundamental change to the way they release dollars is no small thing.

At what point of time and where does the discussion take place: whether we need a completly new Value Stream to realize a PF Epic?

How do you account for R&D/Innovation into the portfolio since only a fraction of these actually make it to the approved backlog? Do you show all of your BHAG projects or just the "approved" ones?
Tameka Lewis

If you took the 5.0 LPM class but didn’t get certified. Do you have to now take the 5.0.1
David Hiatt
45:08
I think my long winded question above is being addressed in this part of the presentation, thanks!
Lori Priller
46:07
David Hiatt - When the budgets are being considered, the executives with other stakeholders will work together as part of a participatory budget workshop. We offer these workshops, and SPCs have access to the material.
Lori Priller
47:55
Tameka - you will need to get certified to have access to the LPM material. :)
Richard Knaster
48:03
Tameka, you don’t need to take 5.01 to become certified. You can take the 5.0 test
David Hiatt

as a pre-req to LPM, the upfront intake process is key to be managed in lean/agile approach. When SAFe is going to be tackling this part?
