And now some of the public middle schools are adopting Summit Curriculum (Zuckerberg's philanthropic effort) I see this as degrading the profession of teaching by providing a canned curriculum that can be taught by "technicians". I see this as a deliberate "dumbing down" in public schools

As for organizing, we need to establish district level groups - with a parent. teacher, student, and community representatives - that communicate back to the A4PEP board about essential issues in their community

As well as access to internet (to go along with access to tech). As a person who teaches in a a high poverty demographics school, the majority of my students could not access the internet at home. My colleagues and I are super frustrated with the READ ACT. We are spending more time testing and progress monitoring than actually working with students. The majority of my students are new to the country and do have skills, but they feel like failures because they are not proficient in English
