Trent Garrett
54:11
What does it mean to be anti-Israeli? Isn't anti any group inhumane?
Paul Kivel he/him, Ohlone land
54:56
This is not an anti-Israel group. The point of this discussion is to talk about what’s comes up for us in working on Palestinian liberation and zionism in doing our racial justice work
Trent Garrett
55:07
I like Ned.
Trent Garrett
55:41
Thank you Paul.
Etana Finkler

paul, thank you for the reply.
Ned (he/him). Maxine (she, her)
56:55
justice for everyone - as in equal rights for palestinians & jews - is now for me the firm ground on which i walk. i was raised a strong zionist and studied in jerusalem at the hebrew university and worked on kibbutzim. it took years to reach the place that feels that i’ve reclaimed my judaism by supporting the struggle for palestinian justice.
Trent Garrett
57:46
Thanks for sharing Ned.
Lee Cordova
58:20
There’s a book called “Reclaiming Judaism from Zionism” that we have found to be a great resource while navigating all this
Ned (he/him). Maxine (she, her)
59:22
zionism is a political ideology that oppresses another people (the indigenous people of palestine)
Ellen Brotsky
59:48
Can you put what we are discussing in the chat box?
Ned (he/him). Maxine (she, her)
59:55

What do you do with those feelings? Why is organizing around Palestine important? Are there other intersectional issues that are tricky for you to navigate? How do you do it?

Where can we find the first recording of the SURJ discussion on the Palestinian struggle?
SURJ Tech/ Misha
01:17:35
How do you talk with other Jewish people about this? What kind of role does SURJ have on this issue? What does it mean for Jews to show up as allies to Palestinians? How does that relate to our work on racial justice and our people of color-led organizations in our local areas? What does it mean to be an ally to Palestinians? How do you have feelings and keep showing up? What do you do when you have these feelings? How do we keep the focus where it needs to be?
Anne Dunlap (she/her), SURJ-Faith
01:17:56
