We received email from CDC to sign up with VAMS but have not had any luck using their verification code. Has anyone been luck with this ? Would it be possible to sign up with the Vinni instead of VAMS ?
Peter Touborg
13:46
We have a vaccinated family member asking to take her vaccinated father out to her home for a short visit. We've told her that this is not advised in the phase 1 guidance but they are looking for more information from the state as to why this type of visit should not take place. Can you advise?

If Omnicare is our pharmacy and we signed up for the program, what are our options for getting the vaccine to our facility?
Toni Hanson - Bel-Air Nursing and Rehab, Goffstown
14:06
We have completed our enrollment and I was told that everything was all set. I received the link to register with VAMS but haven't seen any other updated information. I'm not sure what I am supposed to do from there. Who would I call?

So LTC Pharmacies can do onsite clinics (e.g. at a ALR)? Our understanding was they can only provide the vaccine and adverse event kit, but we have to administer. Having an onsite clinic, similar to FPPP, would solve a lot of problems.
lynnburton
28:08
It would be nice if dhhs would issue a standing order for the vaccine instead of homes obtaining individual prescriptions/orders for each staff/resident

Phase 1 still says medically necessary..... so.....
pcummings

I am also under the understanding that phase one is not "low" transmission. Therefore, trips outside the facility should be limited to medically necessary only, correct?

We have heard of 2 cases of fully vaccinated staff that have since tested positive for COVID. Understanding illness should be milder. Are there many positive cases emerging in fully vaccinated individuals?

Do providers (PCP doing rounds) coming into a LTCF need to wear an N-95 mask still or is a surgical mask okay at this time?
Jessica Caron
45:24
If I can add a question: Do service providers to the IDD community need to keep employee health screening documentation on file? We have a policy that all employees must health screen prior to arriving to work, and we were also under the impression that we must keep a written record for each staff - does that need to be continued? its a LOT of documentation
Jessica Caron

In response to your questions regarding the retention of records for COVID-19 screenings. The guidance for NON CMS certified facilities is to retain employee and resident screening logs as part of the employee file and resident charts, consistent with existing rules.Health Facilities Administration has consulted with Public Health to determine the guidelines for retaining the records of COVID screenings for visitors, visitor screening records should be kept for 30 days, then can be destroyed, if you so choose.CMS certified nursing homes will have to retain their documents until guidance is issued on these subjects.
