question for discussion, I assume the evidence for health with more natural environments is causation rather than correlation? I know (as a home care nurse) that rich people live in greener spaces. If they don't, they have second homes and/or vacations...

Question for Millie: Regarding “green prescriptions”, for those without access to green spaces, this could be like prescribing a diet of fresh fruits and vegetables to a person who lives in a food desert. Are there large scale initiatives to increase access to green space? Or are there other creative solutions?

for johannes, I am curious about how planting trees creates jobs and if those jobs are sustainable after the trees are planted or without outside agency funding?

Wonderful presentations! Thank you both and love the truly global outreach. In Kentucky (University of Louisville) we have “The Green Heart Project” combining tree planting with scientific study. www.greenheartlouisville.com In Lexington we have active reforesting programs, including “Pocket Nurseries” where folks can foster tree seedlings in cloth bags and then either plant or distribute. Exciting times!
