Will this recording be available after the session?
katherineriddle
16:29
Yes. That was in the email invite.
Karin Beeler
16:46
Is there a preferred browser? firefox or chrome?
katherineriddle
17:13
“Look for another email this evening or Friday morning for directions on where to access those recorded trainings."
Jane Holwerda
17:15
In my experience, Chrome is preferable.
Kathleen
17:15
We'll be sending out the link to the conference platform later today. :)
Djamel Eddine Bouchenaki
17:49
Great, thanks Kathleen

May I attend whichever session I wish, besides the one, I am a speaker for?
Kathleen
21:14
YES! Please do! :)
Petra Dominková
21:20
Thanks!
Kyle Mattson
21:21
I feel like this is a silly question, but I'm going to go ahead and ask it. Will we be logged into Zoom and the conference session simultaneously in order to present?
Candy Minx
21:43
There are no sily questions LOL
Benjamin Haller
21:48
My institution changed from a college to a university, and my email changed from @vwc to @vwu. As a result, I can no longer log in to or read email at the address with which I log in to the conference management site: will this make it difficult for me to log in on the day on which I present?
Kathryn Burrell (she/her/hers)
21:48
Same thing on mine
Emma
22:06
same for me, I thought I had registered but it says it is incomplete :/
Briar Essex (they/he)
22:44
I’m also encountering this issue!
Candy Minx
23:04
Thank you I was not able to log in today
laylamilholen
23:17
Yes!

Let’s answer Kyle’s question: I feel like this is a silly question, but I'm going to go ahead and ask it. Will we be logged into Zoom and the conference session simultaneously in order to present?
Kathleen
23:44
Hi all,
Kathleen
24:04
If you're having issue with your registration showing up, email me at klacey@southwestpca.org and I can follow up.
Kathleen
25:13
We're working with two systems and they do not talk to each other, so if you've already registered, but it's not showing up in the system where you submitted your proposal, don't panic. If you check your account in OpenWater (what we are currently looking at), you should be able to see if you've paid.
Tara Moore
25:54
Is there a way to change session times to EST (to change the default that is set to Mountain Time)?
Kyle Campbell
26:18
So I joined late, but is there a pdf document just going over the basic protocols to get to open waters (etc)?
Kyle Campbell
26:23
Sorry for this question
Alina
26:34
Add two hours. 3pm MST is 5pm EST
Tara Moore
27:33
Got it--but some conference platforms allow for us to change times to our preferred time, which makes things easier, in my experience. I'd love to know if I can make that change.
Elizabeth LeDoux
27:40
If you’re logged in, you can change the default to EST (there’s a “change” button to the right and where to change this at the top)
Kathleen
27:50
Tara, there is. You'll need to click on the link at the top of the sessions and you can change to eastern time.
Angela
29:03
Hi--will it be session dependent on how q's get asked? Typically, questions come after all have presented.
Kathleen
30:10
You'll have 30 minutes for Q & A. Typically, the moderator should have some questions to ask if there are none from the audience. But once there are no more questions (or if the session time is over) the panel can be finished.
lisamac
33:15
So if I share my screen and show a PowerPoint while I present, then attendees can also still see my face, correct?
donna
33:32
When sharing screen, will attendees be able to see the speaker, or just the screen with the ppt?
Angela
33:50
Will participants be able to see video/sound?
Angela
33:54
Yep! Ha!
Victoria Karnes
34:02
@lisamac yes as long as your video is on
lisamac
34:08
And in presentation mode, they can see the entire PowerPoint slide but not the “presentation mode” that I’m seeing with the time, etc.?
Kathleen
34:33
Attendees will be able to see you in the corner while you're showing your powerpoint.
Kathryn Burrell (she/her/hers)
37:47
Will sessions be recorded via zoom?
Karin Beeler
38:25
should the powerpoints be pdfs?
Vikki Godwin
38:39
Will we be able to watch recorded sessions we weren't able to attend?
Karin Beeler
38:52
thank you
Kyle Mattson
39:01
So logging into conference sessions automatically integrates with our Zoom accounts?
Rachel Leket-Mor
39:08
Will recorded sessions posted to public sites such as YouTube?
Susan Johnston
39:09
Will all the sessions appear with the subtitles as well? That's a really nice feature from an accessibility point of view -- is it the default for the conference or do the hosts need to set the sessions to that function?
Katie Googe
39:19
How long will the recorded sessions remain available for?
Lugene Rosen
40:15
In My Favorites, I see the times of the sessions but not the date.
Rachel Leket-Mor
41:20
So recorded sessions will not be posted to public sites such as YouTube, correct?
Kathleen
43:20
Hi Rachel, we're checking on this. We'd like them to be available on a YouTube channel, but we need to check and see if there is any copyright/ownership/permission issues.
Kathleen
43:31
*are any*
Rachel Leket-Mor
43:41
THX
donna
44:41
Kathleen I would have concerns about my material being posted publicly - and it was a surprise to me at another conference when this was done without presenters having giving permission for doing so.
Kathleen
45:28
Thanks, Donna - that's exactly what we're worried about.
Petra Dominková
45:40
How come some of us do have the access to the conference site already, while others not? Will we all get the email with the link? I did not get it yet.
Kathleen
46:13
Here's the link: https://swpaca.secure-platform.com/a
James McCormick
46:52
Will presenters have access to the recording of their own session?
laylamilholen
48:00
So the polls icon only shows up if they’ve been uploaded in advance?
Kalli Lum
48:21
Will this presentation be available for us to reference to after the zoom session?
Kyle Campbell
48:54
That would be appreciated, the slides
Kalli Lum
49:05
Thank you!
Kathleen
50:10
Yes! I'll send out the videos (or links to them) and they will also be on the home page in the Need Help tab (may not be active yet at the moment) which you can still access if you haven't logged in.
Kurt Depner
52:27
Will breakout rooms be allowed?
Jade Kastel (she/her)
53:16
I want to echo what Susan was saying about the Closed Captioning -- I think we should all have the live transcript button available so that anyone can elect to turn on the CC throughout each presentation.
Pamela Turner
54:31
I use Zoom for remote teaching and I rarely show video with sound... it tends to 'stutter' and not play smoothly. Does this version of Zoom play video better? I usually put links in the chat for my students.
Kalli Lum
54:50
Does our email for zoom have to match up with the email account we used to register for Open Water?
Kathleen
54:51
Hi Pamela,
Kathleen
55:00
That is an excellent idea - I do that, too.
Kathleen
55:39
I don't know that this version is any different; in general, because of what you're talking about, we don't typically recommend using a lot of audio clips (or long ones).
Kathleen
55:45
Kalli - yes!
Kathleen
56:11
Kalli - I think I misunderstood your question.
Kathleen
56:46
You just need to be able to log into the conference website.
Kalli Lum
56:52
Just to clarify, my zoom account is my student email address, but when I registered for the conference, I used my personal email. Will I have problems logging in?
Kalli Lum
57:26
Logging into the zoom sessions through Open Water that is.
Kathleen
57:27
Kalli - you will not have problems logging in. The conference does not use your personal Zoom account.
Kalli Lum
57:44
Okay great, Thank you!
Jas
58:08
will you be delivering this training again next week again for those who missed it?
Koel Mishra
58:46
Are we allowed to give handouts to cohosts and attendees? If yes, how to do it?

Hi Jas - this session is being recorded, and you'll get the links to them later today and they will be available on the conference website.
Petra Dominková
59:45
Will I be allowed share in the chat the link to the film I will talk about (legally available at vimeo)?
Petra Dominková
