I student taught at TC in 1969...the coaches in this movie, I knew personally, the co-captain of the team, Gerry Bertier was a friend of mine.

I went to Hammond and so did my wife

Coast Yoast was one of my coaches in high school

Gerry passed away in a car accident

Coach Yoast wrote the book "Remember This Titan" because the movie company did not pay him much at all for his advising in the making of the movie.

Last week I had tuned into a lecture on a court case involving racial segregation of a private school in Arlington, VA during the early 70’s. I know a fellow high school sports official who witnessed racial tensions play out during a high school baseball game in Norfolk around that same time. Seems that Alexandria would have had some of same racial dynamics of.
