When putting soil in, is it worthwhile putting particular soil? Or adding water holding gel (or similar)? Or is that dependent on what you're going to plant?
pkter
53:25
would you mix in some coconut coir to the soil for moisture retention? How do you add organic matter to the pallet garden??
pkter
53:59
Will a PVC pipe with holes in it work also??
Rhi Canaway
57:44
good idea
pkter
01:00:14
Will coco coir do the same thing??
pkter
01:01:07

01:02:20
Im interested in growing some natives vertically so soil type recommendation would be appreciated :)
Rhi Canaway
01:04:40
can you plant directly into cow manure? I have a lot given to me and it is like dirt now
Devi
01:05:23
do you recommend to change the plants often in the pallets - so that the soil is well used? I am planting coriander in small pots now and they tend to flower very quickly the second time around.
Claire
01:05:39

Adrianne

01:07:12
is it a good idea to mulch our pallet garden, what would be ideal? pea straw or sugar cane or really fine
An R
01:07:14
Would this be considered nutritionally dense enough for tomatoes or citrus tees?
Rhi Canaway
01:07:26
oh yeah can you put worms in the pallett wall if it's deep or is it too hot?
pkter
01:09:43
I wanted some native ginger in it!! :)
pkter

Rolinda Hameed

Mike
01:15:12
there is a big sharing of coffee grounds from cafes. Do you need to mix this carefully into garden ?
An R
01:16:18
Sorry, rather than referring to the pallet, I was wondering how nutritionally dense the compost etc teas are. (Planting tomatoes in the pallets though does sound attractive!)
mary jane
01:17:04
I recycle my soil by putting them on a old cooler adding some compost filling, blood and bone, cow manure or new potting mix. Has been successful so far but it this good? I also use styro foam boxes as pots for my vegeis. I this a good practice?
Mia downing
01:18:55
how can I know how much water needs the pots from my wall garden?

Michael
01:34:39
I'm a bit off subject but is horse manure carbon or nitrogen for the compost pile?
Gillian
01:36:15
My parents have alpacas and just got manure elsewhere. Can they just use the alpaca poo
Cindy Davis
01:42:08
Pasture grazing horses - manure you get soooo many weeds.
Mike
01:44:04
Would Frangipani work in a vertical ?
Gillian
01:44:09

Adrianne
01:44:49
I don't think we saw final slide?
simone
01:46:37
Are the alternatives to pallets for a vertical garden?
BarbaraW
01:47:23
Dragon Fruit is one of my favourite fruits, so tried to grow them for 3+ years in ground and also in large pots in my sunniest part of garden. I live in Carrum Downs near Frankston and climate just doesn't seem right, whereas a son lives in Altona and have often seen people growing. Is there that much of a difference in the climate? Yet I have a great succulent garden!
An R
01:48:09
Is there reason to be concerned about the plastics degrading in the sun and leeching contaminants into the soil/veg?
