Question: how do you choose the size of a neighborhood if it isn’t as obvious as Country Estates?

01:24:20
Thanks, Jim! The RBDA is working on the cell phone and broadband coverage. This meeting is about grassroots solutions… as the cell phone problem is not going to be solved this year… it’s complicated…

01:24:44
I would like to network with those working on getting more broadband access. We’re going to lose our internet access mid-June. jodifredi@aol.com

01:25:00
Thanks, Jodi! You’re on the list!

01:25:07
You can contact Charlotte on 831-212-5248 or email: Westdalefirewise@gmail.com

01:26:49
I’d like to network with people working on broadband too. If we lobby the carriers to provide fiber to the home, even a few homes, that service won’t go down unless the lines are broken (it will stay available if the power is off but the home has a working generator)

01:27:30
Hi Noah. Is that your email— Gabriel@imail.mx? I’ll put you on the list. Thank you! Lisa

01:27:41
Yes

01:28:43
I’ve also helped some neighbors install fiber between adjacent homes to share a Comcast connection. :-) Don’t tell Comcast hahaha

01:32:24
:-) I can never get through to Comcast to tell them anything, so mums the word. And- impressive!

01:39:39
What is the distance (miles? Yards?) that the MURS radio covers?

01:41:21
Thank you, Lisa!

01:42:23

01:44:37
Waiting for Starlink. Hurry up.

01:44:51
You can greatly expand the distance and the clarity by hooking the radio up to a big antenna.

01:45:33
Will satellite penetrate heavy smoke ?

01:49:26
Did Matthew Kaufman get his tower built?

01:51:22
Site is being cleaned-waiting for soil test.

01:53:46
I'd speak up, but dogs are barking, here's the information for the inexpensive external antennas ...You have two options to choose from, the DBJ-1 commerical or DBJ-2 commercial (make sure you order the commercial versions). Both antennas are optimized for the FRS/GMRS/MURS frequency bands including channel 5 that we were testing today. The DB-J 1 requires 5ft of 3/4 inch 200 psi pvc pipe, or ask Ed to through it in and build it for you. All of the proceeds go to Ed’s UCSC students.Email Ed directly to order, tell him you’re from Bonny Doon CZU area and he may through in a discount.edsantennas@gmail.comhttps://edsantennas.weebly.com/about.html

Country Estates went from 75% pre-fire to 100% post-fire participation. Amazing what a little heat will do
